It depends honestly, the show is really inconsistent with how much "animal" a person is.
For example, in the first episode Bojack says he weighs 1200 pounds, which kind of makes sense because he's a horse. But that's actually pretty heavy, and it's never really reflected on through the environment (ie, nothing bends or breaks or whatever).
Conversely, bird animal people can fly simply by flapping their arms, and Wanda (Bojack's owl girlfriend) has the vision of an owl (extremely acute night vision).
So the question is, how many animal powers do you get from being that animal, and what else changes in terms of your physique?
I'd probably just go for human and get a cute waifu or something.
