In the 50's and 60's female characters in comics were portrayed horribly. Lois Lane, Lucy, Lana, Petunia Pig, Wasp, every single "girlfriend character" exhibits these traits.
Modern Daisy is a much better person, but every time you see Daisy before the 90's be prepared for her to act like a giant bitch.
I remember some comic where Donald is a guardian at some beach and his competing with the duck equivalent of a supermodel to win Daisy's favor. At the end he dives deep to save his nephews and doesn't get back up with them, and Daisy is completely panicked.
So I get what she sees in him at least.

Gwen Stacy nowadays is presented as a saint but in early Spiderman comics she sniped at Peter, called him names, tried to slap him, was catty, and basically one of those bitchy girl characters until she died and ascended to sainthood.
Liz Allen was the Bitchy popular girl that Peter Parker was never able to keep his dates with because of Spiderman. It's understandable that someone who says they'll date you and then never shows up but in the 60's Liz Allen was portrayed as bitchy for not excusing Parker's frequent no-shows.
Betty Brant was a typical shallow girlfriend character too.
In Flashbacks, reboots, and re-imaginations the bitchy girlfriends of Peter Parker have become 3-dimensional characters. Sensational Spider-man's Liz Allen is a totally different and better character then 60's Liz Allen. but if you read the original 60's stories then they all suffer from the same curse that Daisy, Lois Lane, and every other female girlfriend character suffers from.
