Jeph has 3 kinds of standard faces he can draw: Marten-form, Faye-form, and Dora-form; alternatively, man, fat girl, and thin girl.
When he tries to draw different faces they end up looking so horrible, or are too difficult to draw, that he has to reformat them into his standard style, in the case of Claire.
