Whats the best book published under Vertigo?

Lucifer

Scalped
Sandman is a contender for sure.
Sandman is the only real answer.
>>78171354
what is this?
>>78171309
Are we talking current books? If yes, Astro City. Otherwise Sandman.
Ever? I'd probably give my vote to American Splendor (yes, that's a bit of a cheat), Enigma or War Stories.
Also, here's Face by Milligan and Fegredo which is better than anything I see on most "Best of" lists.
But that's just opinions. We all have em

Milligan and Ennis are best UK writers
>>78174267
Morrison's Doom Patrol, I think
>>78174267
Morrison's Doom Patrol, specifically his last issue (issue #63 of the series).
His run wasn't actually published under the Vertigo label, the Rachel Pollack run was but the collections of Morrison's Doom Patrol are published by Vertigo.

That's definitely a statement I'm willing to nod along with
>>78171309
Gaiman's Sandman. And that's just fact.
>>78174475
>Ennis
Are you stupid?
The writing in Preacher was mediocre, and his Hellblazer is incredibly overrated.
>>78174400
This guy gets it, though I hated enigma's ending
>>78174475
When milligan is on point he's GOAT, but most of his work is just mediocre. Ennis is kind of a one trick pony, a good one trick pony but his charm wears off fast
>>78174639
>mediocre
>overrated
Two literally meaningless criticisms
>>78174741
>Ennis is kind of a one trick pony
He's at the very least, a two trick pony
>Exuberant comedy
Dicks, Hitman, ASS8, Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, Dredd: Emerald Isle, Kev, etc.
>Pulp crime/wartime Ennis
War Stories, Battlefields, Unknown Soldier, Johnny Red, Fury MAX, Punisher MAX, Back to Brooklyn, Red Team
I'm not saying their all excellent ( For example, Fury is terrible, Fury: Peacemaker is good, Fury: My War Gone By is amazing) but you gotta acknowledge that he has at least two flavours
>>78174825
>their
*they're
I'm sure that invalidates everything I wrote
>>78171309
>Hellblazer
300 issues of pure visceral bliss. I seriously can't fathom why they just don't get all the old writers together and work on the new ones.
>>78174475
>Ennis
>UK
Fecking yank
>>78174918
Unless you're a delusional republican, which you might well be, Belfast, from where Garth Ennis hails, is in Northern Ireland which is in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. ie the UK.

First page of the comic. Plastic surgeon imagining how he'd perfect his own place.
It's a really amazing comic. I mean, I'm not a fan of demonizing plastic surgeons, to entirely be narcissists and boob job dispensaries. A lot of them are involved in really important work for trauma and burns victims for example. But it does a really amazing job in using this guy and the story to explore themes of self-image and how they can be twisted.
I miss Fables.
