Really, this is what seems dumb from the xmen franchise?

Not the fact that we see wolverine in the end of dofp and everyone else all alive and well in the present , and returning to the 80s for the sequel?

Or that we have angel/archangel in a pivotal role, despite he was 20 years old in last stand?

This complaint has always been stupid. The first one focuses on Logan, Xavier, Magneto and Rogue. X2 is mostly about Wolverine, but it at least has a plot reason why and JEANNNNNN is a large focus as well. X3 is The Wolverine Show but that movie is also a steaming pile of shit from a different director.

The Wolverine Series meme doesn't have the basis in reality most shitposters seem to think ti does.

This is the stupidiest thing. There's absolutely no interest in seeing this movie as we know all characters survive. Only ones we don't see are Nightcrawler, Angel, Jubilee and Psylocke but who cares about them. The main cast is completely safe.

I bet that he is only bald at the end of the movie.

X-men movies are just promises and cock-teases. It's been two movies without a proper beast and professor X, despite them being the main characters from the hero side.

>FC
No furry beast until third act
No paraplegic X until third act, no bald
>DoFP
Beast is on/off
No paraplegic X until third act, no bald

And still no fucknig proper X-men movie where there's an actual team with the actual characters. These are a huge waste of source material. Not that they're bad movies, really, but such a waste.

Because X3 "happened" and Angel had a father in it.
It's not like Angel just poofed into existence.

Mentioning Angel's father doesn't mean I'm talking about "lol how does he lose wings and make cure" that's the plot of X3. I'm merely talking about taking an element and making it work in the past.

>>
>>78151656
But the movie continuity is actually quite clean. Considering it involved time travel, DOFP managed to keep everything surprisingly consistent.

Old timeline:
>X-Men: First Class
>X-Men
>X2: X-Men United
>X-Men: The Last Stand
>Future Parts of DOFP

New Timeline:
>X-Men: First Class
>Past Parts of DOFP
>X-Men: Apocalypse
>>
>>78152341
Eh, there's a lot of convolution because of Origins/First class, since DoFP only changed history from the 70's on, but I guess no one really cares.
>>

>>
>>78152341
>Future Parts of DOFP

Does this include the epilogue where Wolverine wakes up and everything is perfect? Because that seems to take place in the New Timeline.
>>
>>78152341
Where will Deadpool fit in?
>>
>>78153094
I want to call you stupid for not watching the movie, but to be honest I don't think they are going in that direction anymore, no, if only because Colossus looks so different in Deadpool.

But who the fuck knows, FOX doesn't really give a shit about continuity.
>>
>>78150779
>>78150962
>>78151004

In which /co/ doesn't understand the scene at the end of DoFP is explicitly meant to retcon X3 out of existence.
>>
>>78153138
>I want to call you stupid for not watching the movie

Then tell me where I went wrong, please. I don't know about Apocalypse but it's pretty obvious going by DoFP that the future Wolverine wakes up in at the end is supposed to be the new one created by preventing the murder of midget Ron Burgundy.
>>
>>78153440
Ignoring Apocalypse for now, DoFP established a new timeline with the FC cast that would eventually end up to a day where the wolverine from X1/2 would wake up with the memories from the future sentinel times (which are the consequence of the X3 timeline).

So the 'good future' part of DoFP would be canon in the FC timeline, and not the X3 timeline (it would be it's alternative).

That's what the whole movie is for (erasing X3, W:O and the future sentinels), hence why calling you stupid for not getting it.

That being said, Deadpool throws this into the cabbages since, assuming it takes place in the new continuity, Colossus in the new continuity is shown to be the same actor from the old one in DoFP, but there's a new one in Deadpool who is much bigger and comic-like.

So either a) it's the same colossus and just looks diferent because the actor/contract expired (think Hulk in the MCU) b) it's actually three timelines (X3/Bad FutureDoFP being one, FC/Past DoFP/Apocalypse/Deafpool another and the split Good Future from DoFP being another one created just to epilogue the movie).

But honestly this is giving it a lot more though than they gave it, so just go with it. There's also two Emma Frosts that the time jump ignores, same for Sabretooth.

>>78158649
I'm honestly amazed at how good the effects were for the budget in Ant Man. Especially with the macro photography and 3D and everything. They managed to get Douglas and do all those effects on a really small budget. It still surprises me
>>
>>78158803
While impressive, I don't think that the shrinking effects would be very expensive. All you really need to do is a lot of planing and shoot simple stuff with a macro lens. Hard, sure, but since everything is a bit slowed down it could always be shot again to better match. Everything else it's just a big green screen.

The ANTS did look amazing, though, and so did little things like the mouse in the sewers and shooting the paper building. Those are considerably more expensive.

If anything it was very very very well managed. And to think it was a salvage mission after Edgar Wright, too. From what I've read about his script it wasn't even as good as it turned out to be, he wanted a lot of weird things.and reduce a lot of the character's parts.
>>
>>78158986
Macrophotography can be expensive, but maybe not in the realm of things of this movie. shrinking effects are not expensive, it was the stuff like bathtub scene that would have been.

But you are right, I think they threw all the best people at this movie to salvage it after Wright left. Wrights script would have really raped the characters, in not in a Joro way, in a bad way. It was a muricule it turned out so well
