Gawd, that's a toughie....as a comic, I'd like to see someone like Chris Ware have a go at it, but the subject matter isn't his thing....Matthew Thurber would do a good job with the odder, funnier moments...maybe it'd have to be a mni-series written by one person with a different artist for each part....oh shit, Geof Darrow would be cool or Gilbert Hernandez, maybe. Or Mack White, I think he could handle the story/dialogue adaptation but some parts would expose flaws in his toolbox as an artist.
Did you see that huge series of drawings from the novel (can't remember whether it's each page or each chapter--it's a shitload of drawings, anyway)--by that "fine" artist/porn star, his name is Sean something....no dialogue, just drawings. Google around enough and you'll find 'em, Anon. Great book, too!
