Sentry was the Ideal of a superhero that Bob Reynolds dreamed about. He was all that Bob wasn't.
It's not just about acting ability, it's about physical appearance and attractiveness.
Imagine Fight Club but Edward Norton had the reality warping power to transform into Brad Pitt.That's the Sentry to Reynolds.
