One thing Allison does amazingly with is writing how awkward (and frankly silly) everything is when you're a teenager. Same goes with his (shared universe) work with the Giant Days ongoing series and how dumb people are in college without even realizing it.

When Scary-Go-Round ended, a sequel series came out following the current cast. In order to keep up with sliding timelines, etc. it just started 3 years after the previous series.
Allison's series are (in order): Bobbins > Scary-Go-Round > Bad Machinery/Giant Days
They each have the same characters, however certain series have a 'core' group of protagonists and overall narrative themes. Bad Machinery is more MYSTERYYY, Giant Days is college shenanigans, and Scary-Go-Round is primarily supernatural.
