I think that fits more Killer Croc, who's actually a human with a condition, than Lizard that is literally a giant humanoid lizard.
That's what a lot of artists get wrong, making Croc with a long snout and Lizard with a human face.

I hated his design, but seeing him in motion made him grow on me. They showed they had some understanding of the character, but they could have played more with his mindset of wanting to force evolution rather than just "cause reptiles better".
The biggest problem, and I'll never fucking understand it, is why they choose to make him naked. Didn't anyone in charge think he looked awkward in the buff? He looked great in the brief moment he was wearing a labcoat before it got shot off.

Yeah, the film went through like 5 retools before release. Even the trailers were billing it as THE UNTOLD STORY when it really had very little of that.
I remember, come to think of it, Avi Arad saying that the film was completely canon with the Raimi movies and could slot into the canon of them perfectly. I have no idea how.
