I don't doubt that the writers would like to kill off one or two protagonists in the next seasons to make the villains more menacing and to give Ezra more reasons to go dark, but I don't think they are allowed to do things like that. You can have dark scenes like that in a PG-13 blockbuster movie like The Force Awakens, but not in an american cartoon show.

I stopped with this season. I liked her little moments of gadfly graffiti bitch in Season 1 because she felt like actual rebel scum. Season 2 has made her the most military-minded and versatile skilled of the cast and at the same time erased what little personality traits I felt she had in the last season. She's an HM whore now: weapons expert, bomb-maker, tactical analyst, backup gunner, pilot, and engineer, former stormtrooper cadet, former bounty hunter, linguist, communications specialist, etc. The list will keep going on. Sabine somehow became a decent artist while also compiling 40 years worth of training in multiple areas of expertise into, what? 17 years of life? S2 Sabine can do anything accept feel like a real person. Even Zeb has gotten more personal development this season than her.

Yeah, it's different and technically correct, but for the function, they're practically identical.
So with the OT going around saying that Obi Wan and Yoda were the last Jedi and Vader/Sheev were the last Sith, it feels kinda cheap to say "Oh, but there were those guys over there who look the same, but are actually totally different".

In the old EU and the new canon there are various sects of sages among certain races who have minor force powers like visions and stuff.
The Jedi and Sith are the only know major organized/formalized force-user traditions. Most of the rest are a lot more obscure (typically limited to a single world/species) and "hedge wizardry".

The Inquisitors aren't Sith, they aren't even properly trained in the use of the Dark Side, they aren't given the proper teachings like Vader or Maul ever got. They are taught the basics of the Force and more or less have to use machinery and those spin-sabers to compensate due to how low on the totem pole they are in Force skills.
The Inquisitors are like paramedics and the Sith like, Sheev and Vader, are Doctors that went to med school for years. There is a definite power imbalance, and they are purposely trained that way.

Its quite possible a connected officer like Kallus keeps finding scapegoats, while low-ranking enlisted like Aresko and Grint were at the bottom of the hill shit was rolling down.

The difference may lie in the setup to those failures. Aresko and Grint just sort of went about their daily business while the Rebels ran circles around them. Meanwhile, Kallus has always at least snared them in traps, clever ploys and schemes that have gradually worn them down and allowed the Empire to understand more about them. He's consistently competent in tracking down the Rebels and/or catching them in a trap, which is as useful as you can expect when the rebels have so much plot armor available to them.
