I submitted two pitches to Frederator a couple years ago and got feedback from Eric Homan on one of them.

I want to try again now that I have some free time. What kind of cartoon would you guys like to see?

I don't need plots, just characters and a setting that would produce great stories. A couple of guys living together in an apartment won't cut it, it has to really stand out.

Romance. Good romance.

I don't need anything specific. Think of characters as archetypes. Why hasn't anyone paired the doofus jock with the bookish girl as friends with a common goal, and they should solve mysteries and live in a world that's entire surface is covered in one giant library? Something like that.

Make a cartoon set in a board game. Not a cartoon about people playing a board game. A cartoon where the characters are the characters from a board game.
>>
Make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to get ideas on how to make a cartoon about a talentless faggot who goes on imageboards to masturbate to MLP porn.

Homan told me my pitch was better suited for adult swim. I took it as a compliment at the time even though it probably wasn't.
>>
>>77973149
That'd work better as a short than a ongoing series.

>"Your shit deserves to be on the same channel as Tim and Eric."
But honestly Adult Swim has a good history of great comedy cartoons.

.hack have succesfully made many series inside set in online RPGs way before sword art online. Why not on a board game?
>>
>>77973500
The rules are too specific, roll die move 2 spaces and do x.
A tabletop RPG is a better idea, even if it's been done to death.
>>
>>77973509
Those rules are there to represent actions and events. Doesn't means that they would be seen like that from inside the game. Do I have to explain everything to you? Wreck it Ralph is not a movie about breaking a building and fixing it over and over again.
>>
>>77973579
So why even make it a board game? Why not just make it high fantasy? Or do you want a meta narrative about the group of friends playing the board game?
>>
>>77973629
I could explain my idea in details but seems like you have 0 creativity and will keep pushing it in the hope someone will do all the creative work for you. So either you think how being a board game would change the narrative and the nature of events and jokes or hire someone to make the thinking for you.

I'm not even the guy who was fishing for ideas, I was just curious about how that'd make a good setting.
You clearly don't deal with criticism well, consider never going into any creative field.

A cartoon about a warrior woman in a similar fashion to skadi, dawn of time or Gastrophobia.

>I'm not even the guy who was fishing for ideas
Unlikely. There are very few posters on this thread and most of them just said "fuck off"

>You clearly don't deal with criticism well, consider never going into any creative field.
I'm not being uncooperative due to criticism. I don't even see that as criticism. I see that as stupidity and ignorance.
1. You don't seems to know much about board games. There are many different board games with many different mechanics.
2. You are unable to think on how a game mechanics can translate in different narratives even though there are many different examples in media and I even cited one example.
3. You can't come with a single idea. This is not a union of ideas, you are just asking for all details so you can claim that you got the idea by yourself. I wouldn't mind someone taking credit for the idea if he demonstrated any initiative, but you seems incapable to think by yourself. You are just incapable of creating anything.

>You don't seems to know much about board games.
Yeah because tabletop gaming is for faglords.
>You are unable to think on how a game mechanics can translate in different narratives.
Shitty roleplay?
>You can't come with a single idea.
Again, I'm not that guy. I have plenty of ideas and no motivation.
>>
>>77973099
Wow, that's the greatest idea of all time, you should pitch exactly that. That's the kind of story I want to see!
>>
>>77974021
It is not like a story based on a board game with board game mechanics have been a success before. Right?

At least something I created was published and I was given credit for it. Why would I do all the work for free for some fag that can't do shit by himself and won't credit me? And even if I did why would I give it to an idiot that can't think for himself and would ruin it as soon as he stopped being fed ideas from others? I'm out.

uhhmmm ... sex

Go to the tropes thread where people list tropes they hate or love and then respond with "I wish they did THIS instead! Why is it always THIS!".

That might give you some ideas on how to make something fresh.
