Doing secret santa at my new job where we list three gift ideas with our names. This is who I got and the limit is $25. Any suggestions?
I hear its his favorite movie.
Might as well go with Grant Morrison.
Batman: Court of Owls trade.
Do they read comics or are they just a movie casual? I wouldn't buy them any trades if they already read them because you won't know what they own.

Is he a casual?
Get him Batman.

I don't know, I just started there and the only person I could put name to a face is my boss and his name isn't John.
>>77967516
Can't you check on LinkedIn or something?
>>77967400
Yeah, I'd prefer to get them something Batman-related and not strictly a comic book or a movie they've probably already seen.
>>77967552
Probably not, and it's probably not necessary. I just want a neat thing with Batman on or in it. Preferably three times.

batman: gotham by gaslight tp
- Batman: Year One: the perfect starting point. It tells Batman's origin so there's no prior knowledge required. It's still one of the best Batman stories out there. You owe it to yourself to read this.
- The Man Who Laughs: retelling of the first Joker story by Ed Brubaker.
- The Long Halloween: Jeph Loeb goes back to the mobsters introduced in Miller's Year One and tells the tale of the Holiday Killer, who plagues Gotham for an entire year. The unofficial Batman: Year Two. If you liked this, there's the sequel Dark Victory by the same creative team.
(if you liked all the books set in the Year One universe, check out Matt Wagner's Batman and the Mad Monk/Batman and the Monster Men)
- Batman: Detective: just read this recently. This is a collection of one shots by Paul Dini, focusing mostly on mystery and whodunnit. This book really surprised me, every issue in it is excellent.
