What's the difference between Disney's Doug and Nickelodeon's Doug?

Disney got rid of the Doug expanded universe.
The Disney version had Doug in middle school, his bully Roger was a millionaire now, the honking noises Skeeter made were confirmed to be a mental disorder, several episodes expanded on Doug's involvement with Foxhound, they had the Shen Gong Wu from the previous series but they had to be renamed for licensing issues, Doug had a baby brother called Doog, Skeeter became a Black Panther, the inside of Doug's house was made out of human body parts, Patti was a ghost the whole time, she had organic web shooters, rice balls became donuts, Quailman snapped Roger's neck, the series ended on a Jonestown-esque mass suicide while Mr. Dink fell into the Honker Burger's deep fryer, and lastly Doug's appearance in Kingdom Hearts 2 was fun, yeah, but it retconned much of the Doug canon previously established. Overall, the continuity of the Disney series was a mess.

Disney's Doug has an artificial, yuppieish, feel-good tone and actualy had a bizarre pro-gentrification episode where the moral was, basically, "don't get mad at the rich; they have feelings, too."
One would think lots of large corporations would want to turn easily-influenced kids into apologists for the 1%, but this is the only time I've ever seen a corporation TRY to do it.
The original Doug was also a kind of gentle, comfy show on the whole, even when it included wild and crazy characters. Disney's Doug was more IN YOUR FACE WE'RE HAVING SO MUCH FUN.

I got more enjoyment out of this post than any episode of doug
Disney Doug took all the character development Nickelodeon Doug had and ran with it. Doug is more socially competent, he got over Patti and is just her friend, he can sort of get along with Roger, he doesn't retreat into his own little world as much. It was nice to see this character grow and evolve as a person, and Disney didn't toss that out the window, they just went with it.

Nicks Doug was one of the first 3 Nicktoons along with Rugrats and Ren & Stimpy. It was a cozy fun watch FOR IT'S TIME and still is for those who grew up watching it WHEN IT FIRST AIRED back in the ealy 90s.
Disney Doug is over hyped souless trash living off of the Nicktoons Doug name. They fucked with the characters, replaced the guy who did Dougs voice and is one of the main reasons some newfags born in the mid 90s dislike the character so much. Their memory is of Disneys Doug and since they Nicks doug is a product of its time they just don't feel anything for it.
You needed to be born in the early , or mid 80s to truly get and appreciate Doug.
