The problem with that approach is that it assumes that JJ thinks she's a good person, which is a weird thing to assume since she repeatedly, explicitly and consistently states the opposite. It's the assumption that shitty people don't know what they're doing and that, if they knew, they would change. No, we literally see him pushing her back with sheer strength when they fight. Also, he's hardly invincible. He's only got unbreakable skin. Imagine if all of his skin was a bulletproof vest. If you've ever wore one of those and got shot, you'd know it still hurts like hell. Not to mention that still does nothing for internal injuries. Really, his skin is only helpful against firearms and bladed weapons. Against blunt force trauma, it only makes him tougher.

Pretty sure there's a thing about pressure behind an explosion. A mortar has more concussive force because it's gunpowder compacted tightly in an enclosed space that explodes with enough force to shatter the metal casing. Oh come on this isn't even a contest. JJ has no training, beyond her super strength which is barely above Capts level, probably on level of Bucky's cyber arm. She's good at pushing around normies. In a real fight she gets her ass handed to her.
Luke Cage has greater strength and actual super toughness. Even he wouldn't last that very long vs Capt. Remember both these folks have no training beyond brawling.
DD would wipe the floor with them. Now if you have Bucky + Cap vs Defenders. That could actually be a fair fight. Luke, JJ, and Misty are heavy hitters. DD & IF are the skilled fighters.
In the end I think Capt & Bucky who between the two them have peak-low grade superhuman abilities with years and years of combat experience.

I feel like that was the initial explanation. Like that was the intended purpose of the super soldier serum 'we turn anyone into a peak olympic quality human'. But the main scientist dies and the lab explodes, the only guy with any understanding about how the serum works is dead. Cap starts out meeting those criterea and no one changes that definition. The he 'dies' stopping a rocket.
I don't know many olympic athletes who can survive for 50 years without air in subzero waters. My theory is that as time goes on the serum gets stronger, making Steve stronger, over time. This tracks with the movies.
