Well it's kind of hard to verify a cremation you haven't witnessed yourself, so it's always a possibility the reanimated corpse of a little girl is walking around somewhere. She's definitely probably not alive in the most correct sense.

I've gotta say that although Unsounded is my #1 favourite webcomic I did not find the fight against the big blob silver monster very engaging. I was so keyed-up for reading when Toby was killed but this entire fight went on for so long, was pretty static in its palette, and was hard to follow (like I never had a really clear sense of the layout of the brothel) that I'm glad it's over.
I feel bad posting this because I love Unsounded so much and so manyof the other action sequences (like Elka vs. the guards or Toma vs. the gang or when Starfish tried to murder Quigley) worked brilliantly. But man I hope we never get a fight this prolonged, or all over the place, in the comic ever again. I'm already enjoying these last few pages so much more than I enjoyed the last dozens.
I also have a weird hang-up about how much the magic is explained in the fights because it's vocal (so people shouldn't really be speaking, although Duane can get away with it) but honestly I've come to accept that's totally a personal thing and I have no real insight or judgement into when or where it's appropriate. There were parts in the big fight where I felt it was explained too much, but other pages where I felt some explanation would have been really beneficial.

I could read a passage in Tainish, sure. Just ask for it on tumblr and I can post an mp3 there. I'm not fluent in it - I have to refer to my files most of the time - but the language is about seventy-five percent complete and worked out. There's a Tainish primer at the end of the second print edition that goes into the grammar and a fair bit of vocab, if you're really interested.
