There actually is a live action Anastasia coming--just not to the screen. A stage musical adaptation which is a combination of the 1997 animated film and the 1956 live action film (which the 1997 film was adapted from) is coming in the spring. Possibly headed for Broadway.
The only thing we know so far is that Rasputin, Bartok and magic are cut from the show, since they wanted it to be more like the '56 film with Ingrid Bergman.
