My immediate family lives about 800 miles away from our close relatives and we save the travel budget for Christmas, so Thanksgiving is usually like 5 people and we have the dinner at noon, so movies became a natural thing.
My Grandfather and I sit in his study, eating our meal in silence as we watch the news. While the rest of the family sits in the dinning room gossiping about what ever the flavor of the day is.

We watch whatever Adam Sandler movie is showing on TV for only about 15 minutes before going to eat dinner and then arguing about politics.
