It's less the quantity, and more just the lack of FF and X-men characters. I'm fine with no X-men characters (although the lack of Cyclops and Cable bum me out) since not having them means they can focus on getting characters that otherwise wouldn't get any love. There are so many x-characters that you could make a game of nothing but them, but for the FF, it's a solid 5 characters and a small handful of villains that don't get nearly enough love.
Imagine Annihilus, Super-Skrull, Kang, and Doom being playable alongside Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny. That'd be fucking awesome!

I have 6* Wasp and 5* Angela, and I'd say that they're about equal in terms of how fun they are to play.
As far as who to pick, I'd personally say Wasp over Angela due to the leader skill, silence, and i-frames. Angela is still a solid option though if you go with her anyway.

I'm having a crisis on how to handle Angela. I have her close enough to 5* that I can use some of my extra selectors to pop her up so Angela's package would give me way more bios than I need for 5* but nowhere near enough for 6*, so the best move is to get her the 6* token.

As >>77724049 said, check what their actual attack is, the skills don't matter, it might say physcial or energy, but they draw from one atk stat. For the first gear, firdt option, it should be their atk stat by lvl %, you'll never see all atk +%. Don't do all atk +7 or whatever, as that's stupid low compared to the possible +49% by level at lvl 20+ that's +10 at the least. The other options should be all or main atk stat. Same thing with defense. The third and fourth gear depends on the character, but typically dodge or HP on third.

It's random but it's impossible for there to be an enemy shifter and the mission's boss to be the same. But I think there's either 14 or 20 ally/enemy shifters in story missions and unlimited in special missions.

It's a different story for every character, really..
Personally I play the character and think "what am I lacking?" & "Where do I want to take this?"
For example on my 2099BW I went full glass cannon and gave her +44% lightning damage gear
For my Warwolf I went with +88% recovery to make him practically unkillable with his passive.
For Ultron I went dodge since he has no i-frames.
Being a Yuropoor is suffering.

That's because it is, it's a fighter with almost no style to it.
