I could see a decent cartoon come out of this. Might need to redo some of the shittier character designs, though.
I'm honestly surprised not more people talk about WarnerBros Steppenwolf series. Its a fairly decent point and click adventure game that's available free online.
The Neverhood
>>77676361
The plot is tied too much to video game mechanics to work as well in any other medium.
It'd make a god-tier anime. Or at least a show in an anime-style format.

Fun fact: Don Bluth did the storyboards for the cutscenes in that game.
If you want a game fucking modeled after American cartoons (late 80's to early 90's), check out Willy Beamish. The frog's name is Horny.

This game is Fleischer as hell. The fact they did the line work on paper should tell these other "RETRO" people a thing or two about why it looks so solid.

Games are games. Did you mean to say "How about you force games to pigeonhole themselves into the roles they played when I was a kid, willfully ignoring the fact that at every point in video games' history, new games were constantly challenging and redefining the boundaries of video games and some of my the best games of that era (such as Half Life) were among the most irreverent of 'what a game should be.'"

Actually I'm surprised there wasn't an Indiana Jones cartoon.
La Mulana would definitely fit that bill. I'd imagine it as an early 90s style adventure series. Maybe something along the lines of Mighty Max.
The village chief would be perfect comic relief, and there are enough side characters whose parts could be easily expanded.

doesn't this game involve dressing a black person like an accordion monkey and selling them into slavery? presented as comedy?

This may be the first game I buy since my early years of high school. (No implications of piracy, I just never cared enough to get any games for a long time.) The only thing that can make this better is some subtle nod to pre-code stuff like "Ha Ha Ha!" and "Bimbo's Initiation".

Here's my interpretationRufus didn't die he just became Cletus and vice versa, When Rufus allowed himself to die it so completely shocked Cletus to see Rufus act so out of character that it made him realize that they were not bound to the personalities they were assigned and because Goal loved Rufus Cletus became him, by the time they get to Elysium in the ending Cletus' personality had been overwritten and he had become Rufus completely.
Likewise while Rufus was falling his personality switched to being Cletus.
tl;dr: Rufus did make it to Elysium with goal and live happily ever after and Cletus did die

>>77684976
what is this?
Sly Cooper. I know it's getting a animated film but a cartoon would be sweet. The story, humour, characters, art style, the intro title cards for each chapter seem very influenced by cartoons.
A cartoon about the gang, traveling the world, going on heists, taking down criminals and avoiding Carmelita Fox and Interpol would be a great premise for a cartoon.
>>77685212
I was actually working on a fan-made Star Fox show bible a while back, but ultimately decided that my creativity would be better spent on making my own game. I had some neat ideas that were kind of specific to Star Fox though, which I can't use even with my OC donut steel characters and setting.
>>77700384
I would have loved to see a cartoon in the style of Sly 4's cutscenes. They were one of my favorite things about that game.
I'm still hopeful about the movie, especially after finding out that Suckerpunch are involved and approved of the new look themselves. I think I will be a lot more excited for it if the Ratchet and Clank movie turns out good since it's the same studio / directors.
>>77700053

>>77690035
More like requiem for a memejk senpai, that would make a pretty cool movie/mini series, too bad Satoshi Kong is dead, that would fit right in with all the other stuff he's done
>>77700850
TV shows have to often work within strict time limits, but as a result are written with them in mind from the get go.
Games, meanwhile, operate at their own pace. Their "episodes" are typically as long or as short as they need to be, and it can be difficult to condense (or stretch out) the material to fit within a half-hour or even hour-long time slot. You can chop the material up a bit between episodes to make them fit better, but there are still limits since doing it poorly can screw up the pacing and impact of what's going on.
I think for more story-focused games, hour-long episodes would be incredibly beneficial, but it would be a tough sell, especially if animated.

A show in this style of animation stretched out over 22 minutes would be awesome. I think it would even work as an 11 minute show focused more heavily on the comedic mishaps of their heists. I would obviously prefer 22 minutes though.

Also, wouldn't that show basically be Chinese SatAm? It even has Dr. Eggman and the roboticizer, cleverly disguised as an intergalactic warlord with massive eyebrows and a mundane electric torture device. If they incorporated the whole "ancient dragon alien precursors" and Carol's sister it'd be peak '80s cartoon shit.
I would've loved a Custom Robo cartoon patterned off of the GC game just to see the major plot twist animated.

Also, goddamn, the environmentalist themes would be even more hamfisted.
>>77685212
I think a Star Fox cartoon can work 3 ways:
-As a Saturday Morning cartoon where they fight with Andross' bioweapon/mech of the day.
-An anime-like episodic adventure heavily based of the games.
-A Cowboy Bebop-esque cartoon about their mercenary shenanigans.
Krystal can tag along as long as they rework her into an actual Star Fox character
>>77674588
