How did they make a movie so quick after Inside Out?

Christianity, please, stop.

You don't understand. It's an alternate history where Earth wasn't hit by an asteroid 65 million years ago and many species of dinosaur evolved intelligence and huge cartoonish eye balls.
>>
>>77670612
So you're saying that the dinosaurs are all heathens and need to be converted?

No, they have their own dinojesus. They refuse to believe dinosaurs and birds share a common ancestor.

Which Spin-Off is the one where Aku Twoo-Opan-A-Portah-In-Time and sent Jesus into the past to hang out with dinosaurs?
>>

Agreed. "Competent, but pointless" was exactly what it was. Some fun character designs, though
>>
>>77686193
>Mormonism is the one where Jesus was born again in 'Murica.

Really? I always see mocking of Mormons in cartoons but I had no idea why... Now I know why.
>>
>>77686255
Well, to be more precise, it's less that he was literally born again, but he did do a lot more in America in the Mormon religion, than he ever did in Christianity after dying.
Appering in visions, guiding people, etc.

While it's satirical, the South Park episode "All About Mormons" actually captures the general idea of what Mormonism claims pretty well.

Of course, I'm not a mormon, so it might be that I misunderstood what I read up on, so do your own research kids.

Salvage: The Movie sucks. Big shocker.

I actually found out about this movie years ago during wiki binging and thought it sounded terrible back then as well. Like We're Back, but without the fucked up subplot about taking nightmare drugs and joining a circus in hell. That scene where the ringmaster gets annihilated by crows is horrifying still.

Uh, anyway, most of this thing seems creatively bankrupt anyway, or way too safe to be anything interesting. Inside Out had a similar issue where it was ground down to a smoother plot, at the expense of interesting ideas and concepts. I feel like Pixar is getting to a point where their movies are being made by Committee instead of being an artist's vision.
>>
>>77686410
No basically it's just that Jesus also came to america after the resurrection to hang out with the offspring of some jews who fled across the ocean in a tiny boat.

It wasn't shit, just very uneven. Original and risky in some parts and extremely generic in others.
>>
>>77693159
Well, there is a minor difference.
With a religion, pretty much everyone is a part of it because they always were since when they were born.
A cult is something that actually goes out of its way to try and win people over.

>>
>>77693353
what? no, pretty much every major religion goes out of its way to win people over. Christianity in particular has tons of evangelism.

No, what separates a cult is that a cult will attempt to cut you off from the rest of the world in order to control you. And yes, within major religions, there are some sects that are cults.
>>
>>77670493

With the same actors, or...?
>>
>>77693770
Do you not know what "replaced" means
>>
>>77690451

Something looks so...wrong about this.
>>
>>77693797

And thus, my question. Replaced the actors, or simply replaced what they already recorded with new takes and dialogue?
>>
>>77693728
You're sort of right, but at least here where I live, every single Christian evangelist group I came in contact with was from some at MOST century old sect.
Never met a Catholic of Protestant evangelist in my life. But these miniature sects that host all these nice little cult meetings, where you can talk and buy nice little drinks, and snacks at a nominally increased price to "support the church"? Those I do see a lot of evangelizing for.
Then again, maybe you could call that whole thing one religion, since it's all Christianity, but I think it's worth making the distinction between these groups, in Christianity and elsewhere too.
>>
>>77693502
nope, it was the good dinosaur

they removed the original director from production (allegedly because "he couldn't crack the third act") so they had to delay the whole thing

Ater CARS Pixar entered in the Dreamworks kind of deal with their movies with their year cycles

>One mediocre movie, with lots of products
>One sequel/franchise movie
>One really good original on
>Repeat

Maximum profit and yet fanboys will still loving your name, or at least people will get curious once in a while about your animations

They destroyed the chemistry about the original Mosters Inc. if you consider UNIVERSITY canon. It's a Star wars prequel all over again. George Lucas wanted character development, but instead he just made the original trilogy worse in his new canon.

That's not a retcon, you dumbass, A retcon would have to drastically change a fundamental part of the universe like scream energy just being the combined belief of the monsters that collecting screams really gives energy or something equally stupid.
>>
>>77695521
To be fair, Randall DID try to kill Mike and Sulley in the original movie so I'd say he was always villainous. Hell, compared to his role in MI, if anything I'd say Pixar made him way more nicer than he should've been in University. (I'd personally be complaining more about the fact that his "Face-Heel Turn" had absolutely no build up.)

And as for Sulley being an asshole, you realize that he was just an obnoxious teenager right? You couldn't really expect him to be the exact same forever right? People can grow up and develop and become more mature with age.
>>
>>77697997
Different Anon, but technically, the Randall thing is a retcon. It puts an old established element (Randall's disdain for the two of them) into a new light.
But you're right in that they're more inconsistencies than anything else.

Also:
>>77695521
If you watch Monster's Inc, the inconsistency is that Sully/Mike DIDN'T meet in the world before. There's a line in Monster's Inc. around the very begining, where Mike says to Sully "You've been jealous of my good looks since kindergarten." meaning according to that movie, they were childhood friends.
Here, they only met in the University.

I cried during Inside Out but it wasn't Bing Bong's "Death".

That was right. That was good. All imaginary friends are forgotten in time. Bing Bong just made sure he was forgotten right. That's not worth tears, that's worth a salute.

I cried when Riley came home and admitted that she was hurt and wrong.
I wish I could do that, but I can't. I can't go home. I can't admit I'm wrong.

My whole life is running away on that bus. It's just taking 20 years.

Mormons are hilarious.
They believe that Native Americans are "red" because they killed the "Lost Tribe of Israel" and God stained them red with the blood of their victims.

My Native friend actually got an illustrated pamphlet left in his door.
We read that part and laughed.

And then we sang "What Makes the Red Man Red?"
>>
Up and almost everything afterwards is bad. Toy Story 3 was the final splutter.

Daily reminder that Incredibles 2 will have a gazillion characters like Cars 2 to sell merchandise, and Finding Dory is already proving to be Facebook pandering on a near-Minions level.

>Incredibles will shill for action figures
>Dory will shill for adult pyjamas
>>
>>77699926
>Toy Story 3 was the final splutter.
Honestly, I only partially agree.

Toy Story 3 was Monsters U tier.

It didn't make a difference.

Toy Story 3 was a Peter Pan story. A way to be young forever.

But that's impossible. Being given to the little girl was just prolonging the impossible.

She'd grow up and ditch her toys, just like Andy did.
Then we have the same dilemma all over again.

It was a weak conclusion
>>
I saw it described as "subtle" in a TV ad tonight. One of those ads that throws a bunch of words people have used to describe the film. That's not really a good word to flash on the screen and can easily be used on to describe any shitty movie. Who knows? Maybe it is a highly subtle film that may seem as boring to the layman, but to the elite this is the cinema at it's highest. You just don't get it.
