Why the fuck would they set Jessica Jones and Daredevil in the Marvel Quipimatic Universe? It serves no advantage story wise and only drags it down by reminding that all this cheesy shit is canon to the same universe.
>>
>>77638929
Welcome to capeshit, dumbass. Where while Superman is holding a charity parade for the Metropolis orphanage, Batman is breaking the bones of a rapist who just killed a girls.
>>
>>77638929

It's not like this shit doesn't happen in cape comics anyway.
>>
Show me on the doll where the quip touched you, anon.
>>
>>77638957
>who just killed a girls

Into the trash your opinion goes.

The Netflix series should be their own universe. You guys can have your Quipbots and Agent Social Justice and Agents of SHIT. We adults have our Netflix shows.
>>
>>77638966
The point of the original Alias comic was to show that while all this campy capeshit stuff is happening, there's a bunch of fucked up shit happening behind the scenes.
>>
What issue does being set in the MCU cause the show?
>>
>>77638995
I'm reminded of Age of Quiptron and Agents of SHIT.
>>
The movies are their own thing.

The Netflix shows are their own thing.

Agents of SHIELD, more than all the other things, is its own thing.

That's the only way to look at it, really.

I guess, over all, yeah they're all supposed to be connected, but it's like with comics...you can just read the ones you like. I don't read Spider-man and wonder what Rocket Raccoon is doing at that same moment.

Not everyone lies in the olympus or the quipgods. Some people live in the dark bowels of the world that the Heross dominate.
I liked how it was in the comic Alias.
While the tone of the whole comic was dark and gritty when she trid to contact the avengers the Mansion was bathed in light and the flashback to her hero days were shiny and colorful.

At this point in the series, Coulson is micromanaging the Inhuman problem. Assuming this takes place in January like everyone says, SHIELD is also still pretty divided, with the only ones actually working being Coulson, Daisy, and Black Simmons.

Except you are completely wrong. In both Movie, Asguardians have been referring to and saying they are using magic.
>>
>>77638929
Agents of SHIELD has nothing to do with the MCU. Joss confirmed it's not canon and is set in its own universe. You might as well call Gotham canon to the MCU.
>>
Because that's how it is in the comics.
>>
>>77641333
They straight up said in the documentary that thees nothing magic about them at all and everything about them is tech based. Most people understood this from seeing the way they made their "magic" look, lokis flickering hologram "illusions" for example. But you and /co/ as a whole are so desperate to want to believe that there is something, anything, still mythical and magical about them. The problem is all of their "magic" is perfectly explained away as being completely understood under current science. MCU asgardians would look at a bics lighter and call it a magic flame.
>>
>>77641391
Joss isn't the authority on what's canon. That was essentially him just being assblasted that one of the characters he killed off for no reason was allowed to come back by people with more say than him.

No he didn't. He said Coulson wasn't going to appear in Age of Ultron because it would require a lot of explaining that would just confuse audiences. That's it. He never said it wasn't canon and only literal retards interpreted it that way.

To the point that Joss made a tweet saying as much that anyone that took that from what he said was an idiot.

The MCU takes it to the extreme, though, with major threats beings turned into jokes and galactic dictators being taken out through dance offs (it is a heavily, heavily sanitized version of the comics). Some of the last few Marvel crossovers ended with Wasp dying, Doom murdering Stature, and Captain America being shot in the head. You can still imagine that something like Alias takes place in 616; meanwhile, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy seem to take place in some separate universe in which everything is inherently lighter and softer.

Superman (or Batman, who probably does that even more given Bruce Wayne's rep as a philanthropist) having charity parades doesn't change the fact that their world has problems.

This is a poor example. And the flashbacks to her hero days involved Purple Man rape (never mind that the first arc involved Ms. Marvel and Captain America).

This whole street level = gritty, superpowers = quips bullshit only exists in the minds of casuals because one's being handled by Netflix while the other's being handled by mainline Disney. Even Thor Ragnarok's probably going to end up quippy, entirely for the reason that I mentioned.

You really don't have an argument and I don't really think you know what you are saying. Yes Shield was bad at finding people. But scalpel hands is someone who could have easily been dealt with by the police... she is a normal woman... with knife hands.

No superpowers, no super secret government training, just knives.

Them not being good at finding powered people does not explain wh they decided to take on the dangerous task of locking up her and putting metal caps over her knives instead of her being taken into prison or having the knives removed.

It was lame. Fucking lame. Stop defending it. Seriously.

The movie universe is more comparable to a world in which Idi Amin, Hitler, or Saddam Hussein was defeated by some dude challenging them to a dance off, or in which Osama Bin Laden turned out to be bumbling actor. The problem with the movies isn't that there's humor; Daredevil had that with shit like avocado's at law (wonder how Fisk would have been taken out if his world worked on Marvel movie logic). The problem is that the humor is there all the time, regardless of the scene, and that the logic of the world bends to accommodate it.
