Who is the better villain?
Easily Fisk. His monologues were far better, he was more rounded as a character (in that he had a life that wasn't just directly linked to the protagonist), the actor was better, and he actually carried out the violence himself.
That said, Kilgrave is still better than any of the villains in Marvel's movies.

With the formula Netflix is currently going for, the hero is really only filling half the time and the other half is filled by the villain. It means you can stretch your single story (DD vs Kingpin, Jessica Jones vs Purple Man) a lot further by fleshing it out with character motivations etc for the bad guy.
Movies have so little time, the best they can hope for is to make the good guys sympathetic to keep their franchise alive and the villains are complete afterthoughts to that.
So all this really says is that capes work better in serialized format, which shouldn't be any surprise. At the same time capes also need horrendous budgets most of the time to get accurately portrayed which is why the movies seem much more natural a lot of the times.

Fisk was only really threatening in a few specific scenes, his final monologue was great tho and maybe he'll be better now that he doesn't have to pretend not to be an asshole.
I liked Daredevil better than JJ tho.

I think Fisk as a character was more interesting but I enjoyed Tennant's performance A LOT more.
Not sure what that says, but I definitely enjoyed scenes with Purple Man in them a lot more than Kingpin.
