There was an explanation i heard, that since at some point i haven't read, odinforce ran out and thor had to make his own odinforce to recharge mjolnir, it now judges people based on what thor thinks is worthiness. And since Thor thinks Jane is pretty worthy, what with the "fuck magic I'll fight cancer without cheating" and stuff, that's why she's worthy. And the thing Nick Fury told him made him see that he was a hypocrite in some aspect or another and so he stopped seeing himself as worthy.
Plot holes: the hammer of Thorr wouldn't be affected by this change of odinforce so he shouldn't have been able to carry it, as he'd still be viewed as worthy.
Another interpretation: Thor dated Jane for so long that she changed his view on worthiness and stuff a little, so now he compares worthy people to her, that's why she's soooo worthy that she can make the hammer do things Thor couldn't get it to do.

Okay, I think that Aaron has generally been one of the worst writers on Thor. His character assassination of Odin and Thor have been just cringeworthy.
But Aaron is a very simple writer. The dark rogue pretends to go back to the dark side to infiltrate the evil group is cliche as hell. The tension of "did he really do that?" is easy to string along for a few issues, and then the big betrayal makes for a good splash page moment.
It's obvious to absolutely everyone that Loki is lying here, as he do.

I actually thought Aaron's first Fem Thor was okay, but this wasn't good at all.

He had to make Odin terrible because he can't get around the fact that Odin has known Jane foster sense Jane was Don Blakes nurse, and eventually came to approve of Jane and her relationship with Thor. There is 0 reason-- 0 for anything Aaron has written to happen like it has happened. Odin knows Jane. And likes her in as much as a father would like the woman who is favored son loves dearly. Jane attempted to provide medical assistance to Gaea (Odin's baby mama) when she was dying in Sifs Journey into Mystery. He likes Jane. He doesn't care enough about humans to cure a woman of cancer against her wishes.
Had she told Odin and asked him to not reveal it to Thor he would've done so and not cared. You could cut all the drama. This makes no sense beyond the whole "elves are attacking thing" which I'm fine with Aaron doing even though he already did this story arc after god butcher.

since fucking forever, Kirby and Stan run never erased the mythical part of the characters, it just made that others perceived them as aliens, other runs leave very clear they were gods, the whole Ragnarok arc worked on that, Straczynski's run literally used the god part to bring the characters back from the dead, only the movies and some Alternate earths like Earth X completely erased the god part out of the characters.

I'm gonna say it - I think this is a really good idea, just horrible executed. Jane being able to turn into strong Thor and leave her weak body whenever she likes is great. I can see it becoming addictive. At the same time, the hammer killing her is good too. It makes sense that it purges the poisons that are meant to keep her alive. It creates a decision for her every time she takes the hammer.
My problem with this run is the execution. Disgracing Thor? Everyone just accepting the new Thor? The new Thor being way better than the old Thor for no reason? The new Thor having gurl power? I've forgotten a bunch of other stuff, too.
It's typical of Marvel these days. Push the agenda, and forget the emotion that makes runs great.
