This is totally going to stick with the SF2 cast, I'd bet - that game, counting the Super updates (which had Cammy), contains the bulk of SF's military-themed characters, minus Rolento (who's originally from Final Fight anyway).

Most of the Udon guys that wrote SF stuff can't keep up with Ken-Siu Chong there in terms of making the characters work in a narrative that respects the games and past comics, so I wonder about other companies'writers - gotta wait and see.

These alt covers are amazing and the artist for the book actually is pretty solid.
The one thing I was worried about for this crossover was the art since IDW's G.I. Joe books have had mostly lackluster art. But this looks awesome.
