Perfect
goddamn i remember reading this for a class in high school
>>77515802
What did the class think?
>>77515828
Did...
Did he just run out and get a new goddamn family?
>>77515853
Nah I think he just made two new ones with his old wife.
>>77515816
It was a graphic novels elective. Everyone liked it, but you could tell that the kids who were only there for an easy a didn't appreciate it as much as it deserved.
>>77515860
Ah okay I see now.
>>77515863
Truly, youth is wasted on the young. Now I remember why I didn't make friends in high school.
That was beautiful, Dan. Thanks for the storytelling, long time something kept my attention this long.
>>77515917
Eh. It can be. I think it's a pretty forgivable offense at that age; a lot of kids don't have a specific passion and just want to roll through high school.
There were a lot of kids that were in the class because they wanted to be, though. They had a passion for art and storytelling and you could see it. Funny enough, most of us wound up going into art and writing.
I began the evening telling myself that I will go to bed early. And then you storytime this.
...Ho well, it was worth it. Thanks, Dan!

Sorry anon! I owe you one.
>>77515959
No need to thank me. I just post other people's work on 4chan.
So he sets out to save his son, but it was futile, and just caused more hardship for him along the way. Would it have been worse, to roll over and welcome the three shadows?
>>77516004
True, true. I remember how tedious high school was and how I just wanted to sleep at times. One time I slept through 8 markers, a soft rubber apple, and a marker eraser being thrown at me by my history teacher. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed him and his class, but I was always so damn tired.
>>77516126
In a way, yes and no. Yes in that the three could of have enjoyed their last moments with each other, but no because at least the parents can say they at least tried, which could of have left them with guilt/regret in not trying to save their son.
>>77515945
ThankS OP.
>>77516126
I think the message is more that you can't fight the universe. Tragedy, misery, and pain are an integral part of the world, and you're only going to hurt yourself more if you try to defy them.
>>77515945
Well, this goes in my 'to hunt for' list.
>>77516132
Same here, brah. I normally just wanted to get the fuck out and go home, but I can't, for the life of me, remember what I used to do.
Thanks Dan "get in the van" Dashly
>>77516033
Don't worry Dan. Like I said, it was worth it. Beside, who need to sleep when you have enough coffe?
The only part of this story that I still don't get is why exactly the kid had to die. Did he have a disease? I mean no-one dies just because.
>>77520232
That's a good philosophy to have!
>>77515945
Beautiful. I'll buy this if I see it in store. Thanks Dan, you've been a great faggot.
>>77516126
I think it's open for debate, but imo a caring father will always face the impossible to save his son against the unknown.
And this impossible was Death but at least he tried.
