Welp, guess it really was a "return to status quo" thing. Even despite that, was still nice. I laughed, I felt some tension, I felt empathy and sympathy, it was nice. I feel like I'll get flak for this, but, really, "Status Quo" isn't that bad, and, like the song, everything's back to where it was before the beginning of the season, but there are still the changes in attitude and it was a good mini-series. Overall I enjoyed the miniseries a lot but I am pretty disappointed in how it ended, even if the song and montage at the end was nice.
I mean, it feels like "the status quo will never significantly change" was the moral of this whole thing. So I guess it's good of the show to acknowledge that and let people know, but it's still disappointing. Sort of kills my interest in any future developments.

It was really funny; the goat thing I'm not sure about. Feel like it was just a straightforward gag that kind of missed it's mark slightly, but with shit like Jake sadly burying his burrito and then suggesting they just curbstomp the cutie army it's not really damaging to the overall episode. Jake was really in top form this ep.

And Finn and Jake got to go on an Vampire killing adventure, so that was a neat change for them.

The last episode was so filled with old tropes about hero characterisation it almost made the entire point of the mini-series hypocritical.
Marceline becomes depressed for such a futile reason when she could have adressed that way before the whole hunt, using it as a cheap plot device for the "hero redemption", talk with Ice King included. It was so cliché I almost rolled my eyes
Too bad, some of the episodes were quite fun, despite not being that great either. At least they keeped their obnoxious tarot culture only for the vampires personalities and not for entire plot devices.
This said, I would still enjoy another mini-series, maybe a bit more epic and without any kind of meta-commentary.

In the stakes he pretty much failed at everything he did, including spending the whole day stabbing a self healing vampire because he misinterpreted a word. I understand they needed to get him out of the way so PB and Marceline could shine, but reducing him to a dumb side kick as a very poor way of doing it.
