>"He does not wear the mask," said Bruhl when asked about Zemo's iconic purple mask.
>"You would be surprised, it's different than what you'd think," said Bruhl. "It's loosely connected to this character.

And the Xmen moveis and MoS were shit, so I'm not quite sure what you're implying.
>>77448890
The mask would look gay.
>>77449178
>And the Xmen movies and MoS were shit
The first X-Men was made in 1999, for a mere 75 million, in an era where superheroes were not a surefire success.
Man of Steel came out two years ago.
>>77449503
Hmm, you don't seem to have a point anywhere in the useless post...you know, seeing as how nowhere did it contradict the statement that the xmen movies and mos were shit.
Also notice he said "movies" not the "1st movie".
>>77449530
Well that's just your opinion, man.
I get why they aren't doing a purple sock over his head, that would look terrible in live-action. Although I am a bit surprised he won't get some kind of Cobra Commander helmet at least, I have enough faith in the team that I expect they'll do something interesting.
>ashamed
Man, do I ever wish the whole "ashamed to be a comic movie" phrase could be wiped from existence. It was useless when it was first said and it's useless now, meaningless criticism that comes from fanboy whining. Apparently understanding what works interaction and what doesn't means you're ashamed, and not changing things in service of making the movie work AKA what every adaptation of everything does ever.
>>77449530
>Hmm, you don't seem to have a point anywhere in the useless post...you know, seeing as how nowhere did it contradict the statement that the xmen movies and mos were shit.
Gee golly jeepers, it seems like the X-Men franchise was founded on the limitations and expectations of a movie made 16 years ago.
>Also notice he said "movies" not the "1st movie".
The 'tism is strong with you.

Sometimes it's the only swipe contrarians can make.
Like, Zemo might spend 90% of the movie pretending to be a politician, which would obviously lead to him not wearing a mask or costume at all.
Or perhaps Marvel was only able to secure an actor of Bruhl's caliber by ensuring face time. It's a worthy trade-off.
>Marvel puts Thor and Loki in comics accurate helmets
Stupid Marvel, not everything works in live action.
>Marvel doesn't put someone in comics realistic headwear
Stupid Marvel ashamed to be comics movies.

Pretty dank, bro, but maybe you should spend more time looking at a dictionary than old meme collections.
>>77449665
It's true with MOS though.
>>77449665
I think his mask/sock looks pretty cool. It would work in movies if they maybe just recolored it a bit.
>>77449780

Said nobody ever, except the people who thought stuff like Ant-Man would fail and ate crow.
People are pissed they don't wear the helmets more.

>People who weren't around when Thor and Captain America were wearing their shitty costumes
Both of them look far worse with their helmet/mask than without. Because it looks fucking stupid in live action. And thank god they didn't even try to do Hawkeye.
Complaining about costume adaptations is grade-a autism. Even without the red undies, the suit is still true to the comics. Same with both Spider-man costumes. They just have their own twists, because its an adaptation. And that's what adaptations should do.
>>77449847
Thor's helmet was awesome. But Hemsworth found it too heavy.
Cap's headgear is consistently good except the condom cowl from Avengers.
>>77448890

>>77449804
His costume is awesome in the comics, but in live-action he would be wearing a big purple suck on his head and that's not going to look great.
>>77449815
>not being able to understand that some things will work and some things won't
I don't understand people who go "Well because X worked, Y will work too!" That's not how it's ever worked, it's still a case-by-case basis.
>>77449864
Didn't it keep falling off too?
>>77449906
>His costume is awesome in the comics, but in live-action he would be wearing a big purple suck on his head and that's not going to look great.
I think the closest we're gonna get is if he wears a tacticool costume, he'll have a dark purple balaclava for an action scene. Like Deadshot in SS.
>>77448960
Comic book Superman hasn't worn them in the comic for over 4 years now either
>>77449969
Makes sense.
What are the chances of this outfit? Without the mask of course.
I wonder if he ends up looking like pic related. Or would casuals confuse him with Red Skull?
>>77450083
Bruhl certainly has no issue with extensive prosthetics/scars, considering Rush.
>>77449804
This one works far better.
More pale purple, far less magenta/pink.

>>77450411

autism.
Bruhl has the potential to be so based, if he only gets 5 minutes of screen time I hope they find somewhere else to shine even if it's only Netflix.
Sorry but only deadpool can pull off pupilless eye holes
And with pupils it becomes a purple baklava
>Sock masks would look stupid on film.
>>77450532
His mask looks like a literal sock. A big, purple sock.
There's a difference between a sock mask and a mask that actually looks like a big purple sock.
>>77450532
How could you possibly express emotion with a sock mask?
>>77450548
>His mask looks like a literal sock. A big, purple sock.
Deadpool's mask is literally a red sock with black patches around the eyes. A big red sock, complete with the limp bendy tip up top.
Fox made it look good. They even included the tip.
>>77448890
Another Marvel film, another villain who barely resembles the comic counterpart and is killed off at the end
>>77450623
Deadpool is also a comedy. If your story doesn't need to take itself seriously, there's different rules and suspension of disbelief.
>>77450661
Your suspension of disbelief can be ruined by a purple balaclava?
>>77450661
>Marvel films.
>Not comedies.
>Take themselves seriously.
>Marvel films.
>>77450683
This. Give up on fiction forever if that's the case, bub.
>>77450683
You can do a purple mask and that's fine, but a full ribbed sock covering would be pretty silly.
I mean if they wanted to do the mask in the movie I'm sure it would look fine, but I'm just saying that I get why they wouldn't go 100% accurate to the comic here.
>>77450702
I love this ebin maymay. According to /co/ if your cape film has jokes in it it becomes a comedy, since it's not like action-comedy films are a concept that haven't existed since the fucking 80's or anything.
>>77450702
>Marvel films.
>Not comedies.
>Take themselves seriously.
>Marvel films.
Marvel films are not homogenized.
>>77449969
deadshot has a full mask though
>>77450721
So you say that Deadpool's mask is fine because it's a comedy movie with action. But it would totally ruin your immersion with MCU movies, which you admit are action comedies. Okay.
Honestly, just give him a purple Cobra Commander/Klansman mask, is similar enough to the original Zemo's looser mask and has a nice visual connection to the KKK to help drive the point the character is an evil nazi-type.
>>77450730
>Winter Soldier is a totally serious film guys.
>We're talking Bourne level spy thriller.
>>77450803
>Every movie is basically a comedy unless it's completely joyless.

>>77450721
Agreed. Marvel wouldn't want their action comedies with giant green rage monsters with expanding pants to seem silly.
>>77450750
You know he won't be wearing it long and quickly go to just using a eyepiece. You can't have anarguablyA list actors face covered.
>>77450784
I don't like Nazi-Zemo. I'd like Thunderbolts-Zemo.

>First line of defense is to assume they're a DKek and reply with "B-but MoS..."
Stay triggered, faggots.
>>77449665
>that would look terrible in live-action
I don't know why people keep saying this
They could literally go with a mask like the one deadpool is using in his movie, it looks amazing
>>77450868
You gotta get through one to get to the other, no?
>>77450858
I know that, but he will at least be using it, they could have just gone with only using the eyepeice
>>77449780
Everyone was bitching that thor doesn't wear the helmet enough.
And dredd got nothing but praise for keeping the helmet on 100%
>>77450255
Is the mask necessary thought for Baron Zemo? If they pull it off, will he die?
>>77450730
that was a pretty good fight scene. just wish that it wasn't as heavy on the shaky cam, though.
>>77451009
It would be extremely painful...
>>77450939
In comics, he's pretty much a nazi gain.
>>77450318
Is there a greater and more faithful adaptation of a comic costume?
>>77451009
Nobody cared who he was until he put on the mask.
Tell me about Zemo.
Why doesn't he wear the mask?
>>77451376
Same reason why Iron Man is a misleading title.
>>77451376
if he puts it on will he die?
>>77451009
Didn't he fall in a volcano fighting Captain America, avoiding falling directly into the magma but obviously being very melted?
I'm remembering this from my first wall comic purchase of pic related. Cost me $7.50 back in 94 lol.
>>77451403
No, Marvel would be extremely ashamed(ful).
>>77451447
>not "it would very shameful"
Isn't Zemo's mask more detailed than Deadpool's? It's got ribbing and the crown? It would look good in live action if they wanted it.
>>77448890
>Sock masks don't look good
>Spider-Man's film costumes look fine to great
>Deadpool looks amazing
Retard alert to anyone here who thinks it wouldn't look good.
>>77451280
But in the film it would make more sense to establish his character as a nazi, then do Thunderbolts in a different, potentially a film specifically for them.
>>77451953
I'm pretty sure Marvel would do Waybolts rather than original Thunderbolts
>>77450550
Are you implying you could see Spidey's emotions in any of the movies?
>>77452061
>Combination of body language and dialogue.
... yes?
>>77450803
>There is no in-between
Ah, so every movie is either funny or serious. Cool.
>>77450908
>My meme argument is better than your meme argument
>>77449665
Deadpool looks great, thats simply wrong. I'm tired of this "____ would look bad IN LIVE ACTION" No, anything can be done well with effort put into it and anything can make sense or be taken seriously in a well written story
>>77449665
Yea it would look awful thats why they always avoid doing it in those Spider-Man movies because it looks so bad
>>77450661
Read the script retard, it is serious and none of that is somehow magically invalidated by a costume.
>>77448890
>Zemo
Who the fuck cares? First he went full nazi, then he made a plan that would make Willy E. Coyote go back to the drawing board, all so writer could have an excuse to ruin some of my beloved characters to make Zemo look better. And if I didn't lost all respect for the guy after that, then I certainly did after finding out he killed based Genis.
Fuck Zemo, hope they ruin him in MCU and then Synergy fucks him in the ass.
>>77451735
It's ribbed, for your pleasure.
>>77453062
>Deadpool is serious
Nigga, what? Did we watch the same trailer? Mature =/= serious.
>>77452988
There is some stuff that wouldn't work in its settings, though. Like I think that making Purple Man not actually purple is absolutely the right call for Jessica Jones.
Zemo's mask could definitely work, but it's spergy as fuck to think that he can't work without it.
>>77453088
Remender's Zemo was pretty badass...
>>77450074
seems like the tacticool kind of look live actions movies go for...so probably.
It's going to be a balaclava... Just a bit more dark purple for some kind of military operation, and then he gets rid of it.
>>77450730
>Marvel films are not homogenized
Fine. Name me all the others that aren't comedies. WS is the exception that proves the rule.
>>77449906
>I don't understand people who go "Well because X worked, Y will work too!" That's not how it's ever worked, it's still a case-by-case basis.
I get this but I don't see why Zemo is a case where it wouldn't work. It's just like a robber wearing a ski mask except the ski mask is purple. Besides, I think just about any mask could work as long as they don't adhere too closely to the skintight look from the comics. Like, Deadpool for instance, his mask could have looked like total shit if they used the wrong material but they got it to work.
for those saying it would look stupid. we already have similar masks in reality, with the same kind of texturing too. a standard wool ski mask. Just get rid of the mouth and make it a dark purple, and throw some goggles. There you go, I just gave you a tacticool mask that fits the asthetic and is true to the comics
>>77456474
The first Iron Man, ironically, even though it's the model the other movies are trying to copy, is more serious than all the other films except maybe Winter Soldier. Also the Incredible Hulk.
>>77450721
What makes you say that Deadpool is more or less a comedy than the Marvel movies? I mean, in most Marvel movies there isn't a single fight where people aren't cracking jokes in-between blows. The main difference is that Deadpool is R-rated comedy and Marvel movies are family comedy.
And, in case you forgot, the last time we saw Captain America he was fighting a Quipbot that tried to destroy humanity by dropping a floating city on it. I think we can add a purple sock mask without completely destroying the atmosphere.
>>77456646
If Zemo looks like a robber in a ski mask that isn't working.
>>77448890
>>77448890
better be a fucking joke. they already ruined Von Struker and Mandarin
>>77450019
and nobody want him.
