Ah damn I really didn't want World War 1-2 kinda stuff.

A shame, I thought they were adapting Azz's run.
>>

>I thought they were adapting Azz's run.
Why would they do that?

>>77445563
Ignore him. It's the only Wonder Woman comic he's ever read.
>>
So a few theories...

>Scott Eastwood is in fact modern day Steve, descendent of Chris Pine's character (who could also be named Steve)
>Steve crashes on the Island during WWI, but the Island is out of time and when he goes back it's modern day
>They freeze him
>He goes through a time portal
>He plays his own descendent

I don't know... it's reported that he signed for more than one movie, and it wouldn't work like Peggy Carter because it's WWI and he would be dead.
>>
>>77445645
I assume there's going to be time shenanigans.
I like the idea that the island is out of time.

Also
> WWI
Holy shit. Why the fuck wouldn't they just make it World War II?

WWI has nothing to do with Wonder Woman or any superhero. Both Marvel (then Timely) and DC made superheroes during WWII.

Plus.. when the fuck have the American movie going audiences ever had a strong connection with WWI? Never mind it was just a muddled depressing war. Not that any war isn't, but it was much murkier than WWII and quite certainly not as fondly remembered by Americans.

How the fuck can you not understand Wonder Woman or even the history of superheroes this badly?
>>
>>77446615
What if Hal Jordan is a descendent of Steve Trevor, what then?
>>

Great, can't wait to see an African American and Latino squad single-handedly defeated the central powers
>>

>>
>>77448324
They obviously want to not look like copying Captain America, as well as emphasize she's immortal

Yes. Because Captain America is the only fucking superhero character to have fought in WWII.

That's just fucking stupid studiothink.

You are a fucking idiot if you think Wonder Woman doing what she was originally written as is copying Captain America.

Most of these golden age heroes were involved in WWII. Plus Wonder Woman has often maintained it through their modern versions unlike Batman or Superman.

Either have it be World War II or just have her be set in modern day. No fucking sense comes from setting back further to a war America really doesn't give a shit about. (Not saying it's right, but it's true.)
>>
>>77448511
Then don't do it.
Also Wonder Woman joining the Americans from paradise island versus Cap signing up for an American program is very very different.

You can still market it totally differently.

Stop giving into morons.
>>
so were going for full offensive Wonder Woman period piece
>>
>>77448549
Because its going to focus mainly on her dealing with the world of man, her love for Steve and then whatever the heck Hades and Crew are doing to incite more of the war.
>>
All of a sudden WW is a bicentenial WW1 character and her fans will bend over backwards to pretend the jingoistic shit tier comics back then were good
>>
>>77448549
i do not make movies sir
>>
>>77448521
it's a matter of appearances, not facts you mongoloid. the general public has no clue what is what.

Also, setting it in WW1 actually is unique enough to give it more flair rather than it being set in WW2 which is such an overused period
>>
WWI is objectively the worst time period for fiction.

I had this idea that Hal and Trevor could be wingmen. They're flying back from an operation and a huge ship crashes through them, they both spin out of control. Depending on which movie, it either follows Hal or Trevor as they lose contact with the other. Trevor ends up on the island, Hal ends up by the ship, gets his ring, of to Oa

>>
How about this

>First movie set entirely in WWI
>Second movie set entirely in WWII
>Third movie set in late Cold War years

That way Pine is in 3 movies. Steve would be old in the third one and would die, but his death would have much more meaning then.

This also makes it very different from Captain America.
>>

I really think they should have made Howard Stark from Captain America Tony's grandfather instead of father. As it stands Tony has to be in his 40s and his dad had to be in his 50s when he was born. And that would still make him incredibly young during the Cap years, like early 20s.

Wonder Woman was explicitly based on WWI era New Woman and Sufragist philosophy. It's like doing a pulp Batman or Superman.

Entire chunks of Diana's backstory were lifted wholesale from Angel Island and Herland, not to mentional all the turn of the century Neopagan subtext. It's Art Style was literally taken from 1910s Suffrage cartoons. She was based on Margaret Sanger's niece, who he was dating at the time. Holliday College is just a copy pasted 1910s Harvard, which was when Marston went there.

Wonder Woman is as much a sloven throwback as anything Lucas or Tolkein did.

Hmm, Jason Blood, Jon Zatarra, Doctor Fate or any other # of Justice Society era members ... or a Greek God 'hero'.

He could be anyone. Would be nice if WB would give us any sort of clue.
>>
>>77480553
They probably will next year.
>>
>>77480587
They start filming before the end of the month, they better release some info this week.
>>
>>77480507
>>77480535
The guys pretty brown so I'm guessing its a race swap of someone from the JSA or he's a Greek God.

Also if he's a member of the JSA then they're totally saving WW2 for that.
>>
>>77480548
>he will never be R'as al Ghul
>>
>>77480553
He is not a villain, that's a clue.
Also, he's french and WWI has a lot to do with France... so maybe he's character is french too.
>>
>>77480447
>Who is he?
I'm hoping he's John Jones, army detective and manhunter.
>>
Calling it now, some anon(AKA me), posted an idea about the JSA being in WW2 and formed by members of the Allies as opposed to just America. This guy'll be the French member
>>
>>77480447
Probably some god in disguise
>>
>>77480729
That'd be cool. Geoff Johns is also heavily involved in this movie and he's got a notorious JSA boner.

>WW2

But movie is heavily rumored to take place in WW1
>>
>>77480928
He's saying they're saving WWII for a JSA team up whether it's in a Wonder Woman sequel or a different movie.
>>
>>77480928
There's only 21 years between the end of WW1 and WW2, if he has any magical capabilities he won't have aged much in that time.
>>
JSA in WW2 helps explain why Wondy is in WW1.

Gonna be funny when DCCU has canon Hitler finding trinkets in the desert.
>>
>>77480993
He's gonna find the Spear of Destiny and the Helmet of Fate.
>>
>>77481013
Hopefully we can get a good Spectre and the Helmet of Fate from Constantine too.
>>
>Wondy helps during WW1
>realizes humanity is fucked up
>WW2 happens and the Allies form the JSA to cope with the loss of Wondy on their side
>Between then and BvS Wondy returns to the world to stop Ares starting WW3 and realizes humanity needs her help
>In that time her and Bruce meet
Bam, there's your timeline

>>77481048
Well we're getting JLD aren't we? That'll be perfect for tying them together.
>I'll tell you the ultimate secret of magic. Any cunt could do it.
better be in that film
>>
>>77481092
>Yfw Jon Zatara assembles the first JLD with people from JSA.

What if he is Congo Bill?

>William "Congo Bill" Glenmorgan[1] was born in 1898, the son of a Scottish gamekeeper. At one point he was a member of the IRA,[2] and during World War I he served as soldier in the Battle of the Somme in France 1916 and also Battle of Flanders Field in Passendale, Belgium.

MY FUCKING BAD:
When he was created, Steve was a WWII soldier, so I GUESS they wanted to go a similar route for the movies.
Fuck, I wasn't saying people needed to stay in the time periods they were created in. I was just saying that it made sense.
>>
He also seemed to confirm that the DP of Spectre and Her is the DP on this movie. That's pretty cool.

Red Baron was active in WWI, and died in 1918. WWI was the war with all of the flying aces and dogfights.
>>
>>77481637
I think anon's point was that Themyscira/Paradise Island is typically located out in the Atlantic, making it unlikely that Steve would be flying out there with WWI tech. Still, it could be a Mediterranean island, or Steve could be testing "advanced" flight technology.

It fits.
>>
>>77481984
It fits but it seems so strange they'd go through so much effort for someone who(at least in recent years) seems very unimportant and unrelated to WW mythos
>>
>>77482147
Johns is involved and he was the one to use Congorilla in the JLA

I mean, it's not really important to WW, but he will serve a purpose in the story as a regular supporting character, while giving a nod to something else.

Wasn't that Robinson?
>>

Oh yeah... forget about it
>>
>every movie is different in tone, plot, look
>hoyte for WW photography
>wilkinson making the league costumes
>batfleck directing his own movie
>multiple nods to DC characters
Holy fucking shit the DCEU is shaping up to be fine af
