You must have missed all the crap that appeared in the early days of Movie/TV animation.
Mind you, the entry level was much more expensive and consuming, but even with all that, shit flowed out the pipeline till even Disney was running low on steam. CG animation is still relatively new. Give it time and all animation will dry up again till something new happens and more copycats spring up from the sewers.

Don't get me wrong ic has some really good artists but the majority of them are bitter cynical pieces of shit and the only criticism they can give out is just parroting the phrase "work on your anatomy" even though that's a ridiculously broad statement and is often not even the biggest issue with the piece. it seems like most of them draw because they've been doing it for a long time not because they actually enjoy it not to mention that if you want to draw anything besides high art or realistic shit you better not be a beginner or intermediate because they'll just tell you you're shit without even giving a real complaint. But the fatal flaw is that most of the advice is coming from people who are shit themselves so it's bad advice to begin with especially in the Beginner Threads where it's most important. Some of it is legit good advice but when you're starting out it can be hard to tell who's giving you opinions based on their extremely little experience and whos actually helping so you better hopeyou're not getting shit habits worked into your art. they also seem to think that there are onlyone or two paths to become good artists and they're both based on reading their favorite books rather than actually learning to self criticize howto study on your own and finding an actual helpful community. anonymous posting doesnt really work well when youre talking to peoplewho are starting out because you don't know whos legit or not and most people will just be dickheads because there's no damage to their reputation and this shit is when you actually do get criticism because 99 of the posts are ignored those people have sent away so mny potentially good artists with their pretentiousness and condescending attitude it's ridiculous I DO think that once you are past beginner stages it starts to even out a bit in terms of qulity criticism and you can more easily recognze bullshit but sending a new artist to ic is just dumb sorryif this is incomprehensible im asleep
