The Steven Universe crew blog updated with this big map of Beach City and some interesting text:
>A little over a year ago I had the chance to make a canonical map of Beach City, featuring lots of locations seen in the show and a few we’ve never been to!
>There’s a few Beach City locations not shown here– the abandoned warehouse is up north across Rehoboth Bay, the docks and the Crab Shack are behind the water tower hill, and the barn is in the countryside a few miles inland.

There seems to be some interesting spots that the show hasn't touched on yet, like Cone n' Son, the Visitor's Center, the Mayors House and ???

Would you want to see episodes about the mystery places on the map?
>>
Also, they also put up some old monster designs a few days ago as well. Stuff from before they decided all the monsters would be gem related.

and before people ask, the blog hasn't said anything about the hiatus yet.

Is Rehoboth Bay an actual place? I guess since there doesn't seem to be any other actual locations in the show it's made up. That's a crazy name.
>>
what do they have in the bay cave?

Real places, compadre.
>>
>>77423034
Well, clearly that's where Malachite is.
The gems are just GOD AWFUL at looking for her.
>>
>town is literally a square
how imaginative
>>
>>77422877
man this shit is interesting. i know so fucking little about real life.. but isn't that an abnormally tiny city? hardly a city.. barely a couple neighborhoods. and steven and the gems live literally further away from the edge of the city than the other edge of the city. on the other hand i guess that's how steven gets around so easily
>>
>>77422957
>No giant man-o-war monster

>>77423127
They built in the area that was clear.
The area the temple blocked from whatever blew that entire area to fuck
>>
>>77423127
I'm sorry do you live in some manner of spacial oblong town I've never seen?

Because most city/town planning is primarily grid based, last I checked.
>>
>>77423148
Also the way that hill looms over them I'm surprised they don't have more problems with mudslides and/or flash floods
>>
>>77423122
Huh, neat.
And I was saying Delmerva isn't really a real place since it's actually a state in the show's universe.
>>
>>77423148
Beach City seems to only be a city in name because it looks much more like a town.
>>
>>77422877
Weird they would make the cliff so long for no real reason, that's a lot of empty space.
>>
>>77423259
I guess Beach Town doesn't quite sit so well.
>>
>>77423286
I think one theory it that it was a huge hill that got blasted. See how the shape and sand location makes it look like the temple diverted a energy blast or something to the sides?
>>
>Delmarva

Jesus, what happened to the US?
>>
>>77423357
>The toponym Delmarva is a clipped compound of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia (abbreviated VA), which in turn was modelled after Delmar, a border town named after two of those states. While Delmar was founded and named in 1859, the earliest uses of the name Delmarva occurred several decades later and appear to have been commercial; for example, the Delmarva Heat, Light, and Refrigerating Corp. of Chincoteague, Virginia, was in existence by 1913[1]—but general use of the term did not occur until the 1920s.[2]

The cliff looks more like it was a rolling hill area that got hit by something big, and the statue diverted it around that spot, so it just cut swaths around it.

Okay, I'm just gonna say it

Geographically, Beach City is impossible. It's the cliff and it's location in Delmarva that ruins it.
>>
>>77424355
In a story about genocidal space rocks, I think real-life geography takes a back seat.
>>
>>77424355
Of course it's impossible.
The cliff was not something made naturally

Cracking isn't the same as corruption. Corruption's roots are still unclear.
When they get cracked, they just start having trouble with their form. and other crazy shit.

And at the very least, Rose had healing powers for her cracked soldiers, so they'd be fine.
Not sure about homeworld though...

The current crystal gems seem to sum it up nicely.

>Some fought due to loyalty to Rose (Pearl)
>Others fought just to escape the Homeworld system (Ruby/Sapphire)
>And there were likely those that just did it to mash it up/have fun (Amethyst)

I want to know if there were some... less than moral Gems in the Crystal Gem forces. Ones that did some underhanded shit when Rose wasn't looking.

I'm just saying f a m.

A dune is totally believable, in fact is a staple of Mid-Atlantic beaches. But a rocky, craggy cliff covered in thick grass like that in Delmarva? Nigga please.

Though the climate suits the setting well, geographically Beach City should be in the Pacific Northwest. I mean, they barely ever get in the water, for living right next to a beach.

Do you guys think Pearl is going to love Steven more than Rose at any point in time?

Maybe she'll recognize that she doesn't have a chance with Rose romantically and that raising the half of her that's in Steven's body is the second best option.
>>
>>77424902
Anon, did you completely miss like, every Amethyst episode?
She's from the Kindergarten, 500 years after the war happened and it was shut down.

She says in an episode that she wishes she could have seen the war, then Garnet recounts how it was an awful experience. I think it was in Rose's Scabbard.

Some sort of God-Like corruption. Maybe even a fused corruption, if that's even possible.

I wonder how Jasper and Peri would react to a corruption. I doubt they've every even heard of them

>>77424570
Amy wasn't even awake yet, if you're talking about the war. Though if her being made on Earth is already reason enough to fight for it, I wonder if any other kindergarteners might've joined Rose's rebellion.

I assumed that was a fusion weapon. And if gems summon their weapons, wouldn't that make the weapons hard light constructs coming from the gem? And therefore wouldn't the weapon vanish when the gem was broken?

Its probably like Rose's sword and is an actual physical weapon
>>
>Garnet regrets battling in the war, killing countless Gems with her own hands.
>Pearl seems to hold no regrets, finding the war as a great event.
Is it because the war was the first time Pearl truly fought, or was it because she was in her gem half the time due to being poofed so often, so she never really experienced it?
>>
>>77425042
