So what does /co/ think of ANAD Marvel so far?
ANAD Avengers: Meh
New Avengers: Fun but predictable
Extraordinary X-Men:Shit
All New Wolverine: Meh
Amazing Spider-Man: typical Slott trash
Doctor Strange: nice art, horrible dialog that turns Stephen into "Tony Stark but with magic"
Herc: pretty good
Ultimates: Nice art and potential for interesting stories; America Chavez mary-sueing needs to end and she needs proper character development/de-Sueing
Illuminati: Pretty good set-up, art looks weird colored
Contest of Champions: Feels like really disposable video game tie in
Iron Man: Started out decent but quickly went to the standard Bendis-quality character assassination and horrible dialog and humor with issue 3
Vision: Easily the best of the bunch and perhaps the only Marvel book that deserves sales and attention
>>77411668
Illuminati looks interesting and so is Vision, those are pretty much the only books I bothered with.
>"Tony Stark but with magic"
I think you mean RDJ but with magic, ffs Invincible Iron Man was a tedious read because of how Tony was portrayed.
I liked Vision and Herc could be ok
>>77411668
>America Chavez mary-sueing needs to end
She's on a team with Carol Danvers, Adam Brashear, and T'Challa.
With the exceptions of Monica and Galactus, they're all mary sues. America is just trying to keep up.
Vision and Illuminati I liked.
Iron Man lost me after fifth Victor Von Doom.
Uncanny Avengers was worth it because of Rogue selling out mutantkind for Avengers paycheck. Extraordinary X-Men #1 was painful setup issue, with terrible Magik.
Astonishing Ant-Man is same as previous volume, muh daughter and muh failures.
Still no opinion on Carnage.
Rest of books I didn't like.
Hercules was alright, the rest is shit.
I think I've read everything, so:
Quality
>Contest of Champions
>Karnak
>Angela
>Second half of ANAD Avengers
>Illuminati
Reading, hasn't impressed
>Doctor Strange
>New Avengers
>Hercules
>Ultimate
Worthless
>Everything else
>>77411668
>ANAD Avengers: Meh
I liked it. The Sam/Kamala part was hilarious.
>New Avengers: Fun but predictable
Right. By the numbers, but fun.
>All New Wolverine: Meh
Kawaii head patting got me.
>Doctor Strange: nice art, horrible dialog that turns Stephen into "Tony Stark but with magic"
It was okayish.
>Ultimates: Nice art and potential for interesting stories; America Chavez mary-sueing needs to end and she needs proper character development/de-Sueing
Patience. I am confident her glaring weaknesses will come into play.
>Illuminati: Pretty good set-up, art looks weird colored
Creel and Titania are so cute together. His puppy eyes killed what menace he ever had.
>Contest of Champions: Feels like really disposable video game tie in
I think they are having fun with it and while it's not important, it is a fun read.
>Iron Man: Started out decent but quickly went to the standard Bendis-quality
Period.
>Vision
Visiony Snicket in a series of delightfully unfortunate events. Morbid, thick with atmosphere and most enjoyable in its revelling evil.
>>77411668
How was Howling Commandos?
>tfw Tom King is a hack and you csuals eat it up
baka desu
ANAD avengers: Meh, I hope Kamala isn't just there to be tsun with sam
new avengers: maker is too cartooney for my taste but if he wasn't like that he wouldn't fit the tone.
extra x-men: didn't like it
all new wolverine: I kinda hope it continues having laura be cute
Amazing spider-man: meh
doctor strange: my only experience with strange is hickvengers, I didn't expect it to be a comedic story
ultimates: I like chavez being a bitch, but the power creep is unexpected. I enjoyed it.
Illuminati: good
contest of champions: It's been enjoyable
iron man: sucked
vision: excellen
karnak: I hate that dotted effect in the coloring but otherwise it was great.
Uncanny inhumans: The parts with Kang and black bolt are great, Medusa is far too nice for my taste, The johnny thing is just painful.
>>77411698
>Chip Zdarsky
>Howard the Duck
Oh my
>>77411753
>Uncanny Avengers was worth it because of Rogue selling out mutantkind for Avengers paycheck.
But the unity team is a benefit to mutant kind, to sell out mutants she would have to be doing something against them you mother fucking dumb ass piece of shit.
>>77411870
>I hope Kamala isn't just there to be tsun with sam
I don't know. Sam turning into a moron in her presence is fun. Naturally the situation must progress, though.
Hopefully with her trying to go easy on him when saying: "And if you were the last man on Earth I'd rather hug a buzz saw."
>Complains when uncanny avengers dived straight into a team without any background
>complains when ANAD Avengers is taking time to assemble it's team
What the fuck do you want?
>>77411866
Anon pls he's only been at this for a year, you have to wait until he gets a bigger project and is well received.
ANAD feels like a somewhat faster New Warriors, I can see the team getting together in its entirety before 5 fucking issues (seriously Yost, you killed any interest in the book by taking so goddamn long with the first arc).
>>77411668
I don't read DC, but I still think DC > Marvel
>Vision: Easily the best of the bunch and perhaps the only Marvel book that deserves sales and attention
And will get neither. /co/ likes the opposite of what sells

>>77411840
It was a completely serviceable first issue. Introduced the cast, showed their dynamic on a mission, and gave the book's mission statement. Art was adequate.
That said it did nothing special and was pretty forgettable all told. I like Five Ghosts so I'm sticking with it, but if you were on the fence about the book, that first issue would have done nothing to keep you reading.
>Amazing Spider-Man
Better than the last relaunch but still not too great.
>Doctor Strange
The art is great but I don't really like the tone or dialogue.
>New Avengers
I'm enjoying this one. It's prettyfun.
>Hercules
>Illuminati
They have potential. I'll check out the next few issues.
>Uncanny Avengers
I like the team make-up (though I hope Spidey comes back) and dynamic and the plot seems like it's going somewhere interesting. The art is wonky.
>Ant-Man
It's getting repetitive but I'm invested.
>ANAD Avengers
I liked Kamala and Sam but nothing else.
>Karnak
Karnak is an interesting character. I'll check it out some more.
>Contest of Champions
I'm with OP. Seems like a lame video-game tie in.
>Spidey 2099
It's not bad but I can't really get into it.
>Iron Man
It's shit.
>Ultimates
Seems interesting and the art is top tier.
Issue 2 of Uncanny Avengers turned me around on that book. It has a really great cast and Cable's badass introduction in the last three pages has convinced me that (even without Remender at the wheel) it continues to be the X-book for people who want decent X-stuff.
Extraordinary X-Men is an abomination and no self-respecting X-fan should buy it. Show Marvel we won't buy the books if they do this to the franchise and characters.
>>77411916
where have you been?
they already did 5 issues before Secret Wars and this is just relaunching
>>77412335
I wonder if Cable in UA is present Cable or some version of past Cable that dropped in at one point in the future of 616. I'm asking this because in the deadpool and Cable book he has a beard.
>>77412335
>Issue 2 of Uncanny Avengers turned me around on that book
Same here. The first issue didn't really do anything for me and Stegman's art going to complete shit despite previously being a fantastic artist kinda turned me off from the book. Was ready to drop the book unless the reveal of the final member won me over.
And then lo and behold, it turns out to be one of my favorite Marvel characters! On a team with Deadpool!
>>77412127
Uncanny X-Men isn't out yet...
Why is DD looking black and red? Has he been replaced too?
>wanting to cancel sub intensifies
>>77412416
no, he moved back to ny and they gave him a costume update.
>>77412416
Not replaced, just costume change. He got brand new sidekick, though.
>>77412445
This is missing Deadpool: Mercs for Money and, assuming you're including OGNs, Deadpool: Bad Blood and Starlin's Infinity Entity -> Infinity Finale.
Extraordinary X-Men bothered the shit out of me
All New Wolverine was just laughably bad.
>>77411668
it's better than DCYou
>>77413140
Take your console war falseflagging back to /v/ where you belong.
>>77413140
Heh, good one.
Marvel Comics?
More like Tumblr Comics, amirite?
>>77411668
Ultimates and New Avengers were good, but not particularly impressive.
X-23 was pretty bad.
Extraordinary is bad as expected.
Hercules is ok, but pretty bland.
Vision is fucking fantastic and the only book so far that's worth a damn.
Still waiting on Guardians of Infinity.
>>77414249
Will the Guardians of 1000 essentially be the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen except with more aliens?
ill read x-men because I always read x-men. Probably read inhumans too.
Only Karnak, Vision, and Ultimates are really catching my interest. Warren Ellis's cold, detached style fits Karnak perfectly.
Vision is so unique and well-written. Holy fuck, I love Tom King so much.
Ultimates has a Morrison JLA vibe to it, and because I'm a biased piece of shit, I'm naturally drawn to it. It's a big, bombastic team book focusing on massive world-ending crises with incredible overpowered characters. The art's beautiful. Probably Rocafort's best work; he's improved so much. I actually don't mind America being really overpowered. I survived Batgod. I'll survive her.
Oh, and I love All-New Hawkeye but that's literally just a relaunch of a book that launched half a year ago so it doesn't count.
None of the rest caught my attention. Illuminati sucked. I was hopeful for EXM but that sucked too. Lemire let me down on the team book front once again. Extraordinary X-Men sucked. Amazing Spider-man will suck as long as Slott's writing it. Doctor Strange was okay but not anything I'd ever buy.
>>77415183
>I'll always read X-Men
I pity you given how terrible marvel has treated the IP

>>77415183
Why do you hate yourself, anon?
>>77415220

>>77412127

Guardians of the galaxy wasn't bad
Uncanny X-Men isn't out
Amazing Spiderman wasn't good
the rest I could agree
>>77415662
I guess these have names on them
>>77415700
Avengers books are all solid
Dr Strange and Iron Man have both been nice surprises.
Vision is GOAT
>>77415224
>>77415209
I enjoy it like the soap opera that it is. clones, time travel, alternate realities, characters coming back to life. Its liek junk food for me. Maybe I take things in stride. Dont really complain about comics, just stop reading them.
Nothing really shitty has happened that me me drop them. By really shitty, I mean something like one more day. I havent read a spider-man comic after it, except ultimate spider-man but I dropped the ultimate universe during ultimatum (or maybe it was when blob ate wasp).
>>77411668
Out of these I've read:
>Vision
Easily one of the best Big Two books right now, King has a great career ahead of him if he can keep up with this quality. The only thing I wish there were more of are callbacks to Pym and Ultron but apparently King can't reference either.
>Herc
Fun read, nothing too complex but solid work nonetheless.
>AIMvengers
I've expected more, honestly. It's not horrible, but the humor is a bit flat at times and the plot isn't anything special.
>Contest of Champions
Guillotine is cool, nice to see Black Punisher and Ares again, seems like a nice read that you don't put much thought into.
>Ant-Man
I'm tired of totally-not-O'Grady already. Spencer isn't bad but this isn't his finest work. Overstayed its welcome and largely seems like a "look it's just like the MCU!" book despite using all those z-listers. Also, pissed off about depowered Cassie.
>Illuminati
I need to see more before a final judgement, but the core idea is interesting about and I liked the Titania/Creel moments a lot. Nice, pretty unique art, too, makes me think of that guy who did the caveman arc in BPRD.
>>77415864
if he is broke, why does he want a family?
>>77411668

>>77411866

How many spider-men are there now?
>>77417594
Well there's a shit ton if you count all the ones from the web warriors book.
Based on what I've read thus far:
>All New, All Different Avengers - Meh first issue, will give it an arc
>Angela: Queen of Hel - Like the art quite a bit. I'll probably stick with it for an arc and see if the plot interests me
>Doctor Strange - I'm not enjoying how Aaron is writing Strange. I'm giving it five issues, but I'll probably drop it after that
>Hercules - Liked the first issue. Hoping it stays good.
>Illuminati - Liked the first issue well enough, I'll give it an arc
>Invincible Iron Man - It's Bendis, so I'll probably get bored and drop it after five issues or so
>Karnak - I'll buy the trade when Ellis' five issue run inevitably ends.
>New Avengers - Like the writing, hate the art. Might stick around.
>Ultimates - Intriguing first issue, can't say if I'll keep reading for long.
>Uncanny Inhumans - I still can't get invested in the Ihumans book.
>Vision - By far the best first issue out of the relaunch so far.
So far the only book I'm definitely going to be reading long term is Vision. I'm going to stick with them for awhile, but I'll probably end up dropping most of the others.

How does the daily bugle feel about black spidey?
Wasn't sabretooth supposed to be part of the Avengers at some point here? Like during the Rage of Ultron story
>>77421915
I thought the bugle got blown up
>>77421977
He is in Magneto's group. apparently Sabretooth is the moral compass of the group,
>>77421915
The Miles Morales book hasn't shown up yet, so we don't know
I liked Ultimates, Herc, Vision, Karnak, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange - rest were okay, barring Squirrel Girl which continues to look like vomit-onna-page.
>>77422025
But he was definitely an Avenger in the 8 month interim between Secret Wars and ANAD, right? I'm guessing there is zero chance they address that team.
Citizen V when?
Probably a stupid question, but what is Carnage about? What is the point exactly. Does he go around killing people for fun?
>>77423380
Carnage is a serial killer with super-powers
What more needs to be explained?
>>77423380
He's Maxwell Cady as an actual monster, which is the most horrifying thing you can think off.

>NAD Avengers
Indifferent
>New Avengers
I like it
>Extraordinary X-Men
I wish they would just get it over with and kill all the mutants. It's the wait that's killing me. Atleast Old Man Logan's back
>Amazing Spider-Man
I haven't read enough Slott to hate his writing. I'm enjoying this run.
>Herc
Strong one. Like the art and Herc's characterization
>Ultimates
Good art, storyline has potential so far. I really like the cast lineup but they need to rework Chavez, it's almost like she doesn't have actual character. Probably my favorite next to Vision.
>Web Warriors
Could do without Spider-Gwen. Above average otherwise.
>Iron Man
Don't care for the most part. Doom is handsome
>Vision
fucking excellent
>Deadpool
I'm digging the art and writing.

>>77423831
HA no
MUH DIALOG
(because i can't talk about any other part of writing in depth)
>>77423831
There is a panel of someone pissing on his grave. Other then that, no.
New avengers- fun, really enjoyed the scene in the second issue where they have a conference call to stop the bad guy
Ultimates- great first issue and rocaforts art pleases me sexually
Herc- definitely excited to see where it goes, hope it's DnA Nova quality
Carnage- actually really liked the first issue. Go Eddie!
Uncanny Avengers- first issue kinda sucked, second issue had a better team dynamic than any avengers book in the past year
Ex Xmen- boring garbage
Illuminati- interesting set-up, really lie the idea and cast
All new wolverine- competent but bland first issue. Laura and angel are cute
Karnak- weird first issue, but unlike anything else marvel is putting out which is a plus
Vision- adored the first issue, can't wait for the next issue
Overall I'm happy, but I haven't read a lot of the a list books
>>77424895
Uncanny inhumans- nice art, exposition heavy first issue. Always rooting for that soule comeback
>>77411668
I think Dr. Strange is pretty good. I'm a pretty big fan of the character, so Aaron's voice for him is very different for me, but I think it works.
>>77412445
>Death's Head
He's getting a new series? If he is I'm hyped.
>>77422513
He was on the Uncanny Avengers in vol. 2 of Remender's run. Presumably that team stuck together for longer than just one arc, we just never saw the rest of their adventures because they happened during the timeskip.
Presumably after the whole T-Mist M-Pox thing went down, that version of the unity squad probably disbanded and Sabretooth joined up with Magneto, but we won't really know until Uncanny X-men comes out if at all.
