The blueberry looks like she hasn't slept in years and everyone looks vaguely unhinged. Not muh Veggietales mayhaps, but still holy shit those just look wrong.

first up that J is there for a reason, dickhead

second because it's paid work, cocksucker

thirdly because fuck you, that's why, bitch bitch bitch is that all you do ARE YOU HAPPY NOW
>>
>>77407593
Jesus man, I just asked why. The only one that seems to be bitching is you.
>>
I don't know why, but the weirdest thing about the new designs for me is the irises.

This movie was fucking based. I love that they had the balls to tell a story where the main character is a bitch and gets no redemption.
>>
Doug Tenapel works on it too.

What do they have in common?

They're both very devout Christians.
>>
>>77407519
>only the women get clothes and hair when not dressed as story characters
this always bugged me, even as a little kid
well, except for the peach's sweet flat top
>>
>>77411050
Even weirder, they're capable of doing great work without barfing christfaggotry all over it. I'm curious what they can do with an overtly religious show.
>>
>>77411464

From what I understand, veggietales in the house isn't allowed to be preachy christiany because it's being commissioned for cable TV and not independently
>>
>>77407593
Hey Mike
>>
>>77407519
Well you've got Joel working to revive mst3k also humor is pretty good on the new stuff

>>
Madame Blueberry and and Laura Carrot have seen some shit
>>
>>77411564

It probably is, I'm not following it closely at all
just I believe I remember hearing something about it being more of a generic slice of life type comedy instead of something full of bible based morals

VeggieTales kind of fell into that category a while back, anyway.

Even when they go full bible story, it's never really forced down your throat.

That being said, I can't get with these new designs. I think that if they went back to having black eyes instead of colored irises, it'd make it more tolerable.
The iris color just makes the thing seem...easily date-able. It doesn't have a timeless quality to it like the old designs did.
>>
>>77411496
Veggietales was never very preachy. The preachiest it got was at the end of each episode when they used to discuss a relevant quote from the bible. Very few (if any) of the lessons were bookended with shit like "because GOD says so" or "because GOD'S way is the only way". They were usually just teaching people to be compassionate and decent human beings, which is fine by me.

>>77412287
Not the anon you were talking to, but last I recall, Joel was working on this project called "Cinematic Titanic" which is basically just another Rifftrax, featuring most of the rest of the MST3K crew that isn't currently on Rifftrax. I saw a couple of clips, wasn't terribly impressed.

Really, is there a need to revive MST3K with Rifftrax live around? I know it's a different dynamic, but the net result is basically same.
>>
>>77411464
>barfing christfaggotry

Yeah, they should be doing stories about fat acceptance or how hard it is being a tranny instead.

Fucking cunt.
>>
>>77407519
>All female veggies have hair and clothes, males do no
>Hair is actual human hair and not even made out of leaves

Who designed these atrocities?

joel's like the only mst3k guy involved and he's asking for a lot of money though

mike > joel

Dreamworks. This is what happens when the Jews get their hands on Veggie Tales.
>>
does God or Christianity have anything to do with this anymore?

I'd watch the original VHS tapes back in the day and it's weird thinking that this is still going.
>>
>>77413202

Well, MST3K is Joel's baby.

But if I'm being honest, I prefer the Mike years over the Joel ones, and you can definitely tell during the initial transition where the writing was turning towards.
>>
>>77413265
I get that, and I appreciate joel for what he did, but I generally found mike episodes funnier than joel episodes, probably because of the improv/prewritten change. It's also just funny that he's calling it a mst3k "revival" when rifftrax has more mst3k vets than he does. And then that old quote about making mst3k to work on a shoestring budget compared with him currently wanting $1,100,000 per episode is funny
>>
>>77413202
To each their own I did like some of Cinematic Titanic. But yea I like what Mike Kevin and Bill have done with Rifftrax, for almost a decade now. Their live shows are always a treat.

>>77413225
Not really and I think some kinda odd clause by the creators it can't.
>>
>>77413225
>>77413309
from my understanding, big idea got themselves in a shitton of legal trouble and had to sell out to survive. and now that they're not privately owned, they can't just make jesus movies because that wouldn't make as much $$$ as they would making these more inclusive/generic moral stories. they still end with a bible verse though I think
>>
>>77413301
Helps that Rifftrax is formed around the core of the Mike seasons with Kevin (Tom Servo) and Bill (Crow T Robot) Writing the material just as they did back then.
>>
>>77407581
>>77408126
They have teeth now
>>
>>77413348
exactly. I could get behind this mst3k revival more if it had some of the core staff from his time, but as it stands it's just him. it feels more like those big name video game kickstarters that were just "hi I'm the big name who worked on (game you liked) and I'm attaching my name to this project which totally means something because I'm the only person who made (game you liked) good obviously, not the rest of my team"
>>
>>77413407
They've had teeth since the beginning.

They function like DK's.

>>
>>77413568
yeah that's also going to be a problem. stranger's voices coming from the robots could be a bit off-putting
>>
>>77413225
Yes. Mike Nelson and Doug Tennapel are running it now, both are friends with Phil Vischer. It's not to different from the old show, one character will bring up a relevent Bible verse that applies to the situation.

>>77413334
Actually, they grew too fast and agreed to sell to Classic Media to help them with the business side, then Classic was bought out by Dreamworks.

it's a bit of both, they tried to grow too much, too quickly, made an extremely expensive movie that didn't make enough, and a lawsuit

actually a pretty interesting read

as a testament to how well written and thought out the account I read was.

Even with my lack of interest in the author's interest, I found the tale of him pursuing his interest....interesting.

Loyal fanbase. Reputation for safe, yet enjoyable family entertainment. Etc...

Also even with the HD revamp, it is extremely easy and cheap to animate.
That makes it a good opening act while Dreamworks gets their other shows done.

The bunny episode was based as fuck and will always be best.

Thinking back on it I'm surprised they actually showed three main characters, one of which is a little boy, getting thrown into a furnace to be burned alive. I mean they didnt die but still.
