It was actually good....
>>
I saw it last night and loved it. The licensed music was pretty cringe but I honestly can't think of anything else to bitch about.

I even teared up a couple times.
>>
It was a very good movie.

Faithful, great animation, it broke some cliches, it was funny, and it felt good
>>
I thought it was fantastic and my little nephew agreed.

I would have liked a little bit more Lucy and Schroeder, either together or on their own, but otherwise I thought they did every kid justice.

>mfw six month timeskip

Why didn't they just have the movie take place during the last month or two of school?
>>
>>77398442

The movie was a love letter to old Peanuts moments, so they had to have the winter scenes and stuff.

Charlie Brown read Tolstoy's War and Peace and wrote a 1,000 word book report about it.

I hear Linus and Lucy are now twins and are in the same class now. Seems kinda weird. Also Marcie, Franklin and Peppermint Patty also now attend Charlie Brown's school whereas they didn't before.

Is that true? Weird. You'd think they all belonged to the same school district.
>>
>>77402716
Peppermint Patti doesn't want Pigpen's D. She shows attraction towards Charlie Brown.

You might be thinking of Peggy.

They ARE in the same class, but it's probably because Linus skipped a grade. Lucy still has the bossy older sister role- typically not present among twins.
>>
>>77402825
He means Patty, the blonde with the hairbow.

Shultz trolling everyone by making two polar-opposite female characters named Patty.

I just watched it and I thought it was really good. The dance song they used wasn't even that bad. How much of a pussy am I if I was close to tearing up at some points?

Nah man, the movie was good. It really made me pull for Charlie.
If they make a sequel, and I'm sure they will, I will most definitely watch it.

I stayed home and rewatched A Boy Named Charlie Brown. I'm surprised more people didn't.
>>
>>77402757

I read the fuck out of the Peanuts strips decades ago and I distinctly remember Peppermint Patty, Marcie and Franklin going to different school than Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus. Patty sometimes visited Charlie Brown and friends and vice versa and they always had to travel a ways, so they definitely lived in different districts in the same city. Not too far away, but far enough so they didn't see each other on a daily basis.
>>
>>77402118
Peppermint "D-minus" Patty a genius?

Really really good, the animation was beautiful. Snoopy was hilarious and there were some real feels moments in there.

spoilers ahead
Charlie Brown is the first ever student to get a 100% on this standardized test, it makes his life good for a while. But then when he sees the test he realizes that it's actually Peppermint Patty's test and they put each other's names on the other's test by accident, so she's actually the genius and not him. But it's heavily implied that she didn't even read the questions and just happened to get the answers right by making a smiley face with the bubbles
>>
>>77397630
Did that many people expect it to be bad?

Went to a job interview for a job I'll never get. I hope to God I get into a master program.
>>
>>77412048
The idea was Peppermint Patty was supposed to be a sports rival, someone Charlie Brown played against (and constantly lost to). Elements of her original roots as the main character in her own comic, too. Marcy and Franklin were there so she'd have people to interact with.

A lot of the later TV specials and the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show put them in the same class for convenience's sake.
>>
>>77414856
And people claim "nothing major has changed"???
Peppermint Patty always fell asleep in class and was great in sports.
Marcie was the egghead who was lousy at sports.

Well it is a Paul Feig film. Be glad McCarthy wasn't in this as the fat sack normal speaking children that understands children.
>>
Towards the end the movie had like two Red Baron segments to close to each other, I thought the pacing was off. Besides that small gripe I loved the movie.
>>
>>77418182
you mean adult that understands children?
>>
I dunno. I felt like it was so formulaic that I had a hard time getting into it. It didn't make me feel much emotion. I think having lines taken directly from other peanuts movies (nickels nickels nickels, i love the sound of nickels) threw me off. It was cute but seemed very modern, made for an audience with a short attention span. The characters seemed very true to themselves which was good. Music threw me off. I appreciated the cameo of the first peanuts strip on the back of chuck's comic book and I did really like snoopy's interactions with the kids.
