Pretty much this. Voice acting isn't easy because you want to be able to give your characters a memorable voice but most people don't know how/are unable to do that, so they just make them either loud or dumb sounding. Either that or they literally just copy oney/ego because "lol it worked for them, it should work for me too!"

I'm actually don't say it as a way to be mean, you can always keep doing that (SinceI hear those furries sure waste a ton of money for stuff like that.).
The only reason Kirb managed to get such a cozy spot is because he somehow managed to snag a fuck ton of connections and, in the end, that's like a 60% of what's needed to make it big in that kind of industry sadly.
However, if you can manage to make a project that you can show to a non-furry public that can impress someone with connections, you may pave your way to the future.

Look at this picture. He made this after attending 4 years of visual arts. After. He then studied 2 more years of animation. Now look at any other animator, maybe a small one you might have seen progressing from Newgrounds or posting on tumblr, you might even have known a few yourself how've made greater progress or look at your own stuff.
School couldn't teach that guy in either of the two areas.
