I haven't watched regularly since the beginning of the second season but Season One is a mess of stiff acting, poor fight choreography, dodgy special effects and props, shaky plots, and melodrama. While I get the Cap 2 twist was hanging over their head for most of the first season, they didn't use the screentime to adequately setup SHIELD as an organization so that the HYDRA reveal had more impact.

2. plotlines are forced and characters make decisions that do not make sense to anyone. It's one thing if a character makes a decision that doesn't make sense in the viewer's head, but for them to make a decision that doesn't make sense in their own head is just bad storytelling
3. iirc there are only like 4 appearances from Nick Fury, and 2 from Sif, and that's the extent of MCU appearances. On that note, there is one Asgardian but he is some 60 year old fucking nobody and some not-Enchantress siren
4. Quake and Deathlok are the only two superpowered beings on the show for a good while and Quake is a cunt. If you wanted to watch a show based on comic books then you'd have a better time with either of The Flash series or Heroes.

I guess maybe one was going to be the other but the different events they were introduced for got more spaced out and it stopped making sense, so they just created a new name. The way they both ended up as head of SHIELD (even though Hill was the only one who was even remotely qualified) kind of points to that, but then again maybe they were supposed to be similar looking for some other reason. Really, Hill was the only one who wasn't almost immediately ruined, and even she's been fucked up so badly it's a who cares kind of situation.
