It just feels like no one knows what to do with any character with a symbiote. Carnage was dead last I checked, Flash Venon has been exiled to space to be Bendis-ed, and Eddie/Toxin is just gone.
I kind of get that feeling every time one of them shows up. It's like they're just being shoved into things periodically so people remember they exist, but after a while they just kind of stagnate and disappear. We're apparently getting a new standalone Flash Venom in space run soon, but I don't know if I'll bother with it. Agent Venom was the best thing to happen to Venom and Flash Thompson in a long time. Space Venom feels like a step back.

Put the symbiote back on Eddie and let him be a hero. But if you NEED to have a twist, how about just fucking ditching the monster mouth and roid look and have Eddie just be a plain old Black Suited Spidey?
Fuck, remember that Eddie used to be a journalist! They could go the route of Eddie running his own underground online newspaper, traveling the country, reporting shit that the mainstream media won't cover. Maybe even go the Question route with Eddie being a libertarian with his stories dealing with a right wing slant?
No. The monster features are what made Venom unique and fun to begin with, and when has Marvel ever done that political crap right? If anything, Venom should go further in the horror direction while keeping the moral ambiguity. So more monster powers and fear factor.
Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not the biggest symbiote fan, just a casual one), but Venom is the most prolific symbiote by leaps and bounds. While others might bud once century, Venom has upwards of 7 kids (carnage, mania, screech, hybrid, toxin... I dunno, as I said, I'm not a huge fan, and some of those might be Carnage's kids) and has been forced to reproduce by science and drugs and magic for all I know
So what if Venom literally could not stop having kids as a side effect of all the fucked up shit it's been put through?
I could see a series about Venom having to deal with the rogues gallery it keeps creating, though I also realize that Symbiotes aren't the most popular characters. Still, you could have fucked up mutant symbiotes blamed on years of experimentation

Symbiotes experience mass genocide because of Flash's fault. Venom goes into an uncontrollable rage and decides that what Flash allowed to happen will be done to Earth and his people. Venom takes control because Flash is in too much shock for what he caused. Venom starts acting more carnivorous on Earth again and starts eating people. He makes a point to go after homeless vets and people that Flash would make a connection with. Finally, he goes after Betty White. There's a huge segment where Flash fights against Venom for control. He thinks he's won but when he comes to, Betty's head rolls out of Venom's mouth. He goes back into shock and Venom now takes them back to Philly to eliminate Mania. Brock appears and tries to take him down, but instead Brock is left for dead by Venom and the Poison symbiote scurries away. Mania and Venom fight, with Mania controlling several demons as well. The fight culminates with the two Venom parts merging back together, which shows a mental battle between the two and an evaluation of who Venom was over the years. It ends with Venom deciding that it must return back to where he was able to truly balance himself. The series ends with Poison bonding with Flash, but also retaining some of the lethal protector aspects that Brock infected him with, and Venom rebonding with Brock in the hospital.
