Amethyst took seconds to regenerate. Given that those were shitty regenerations, she reformed again and it took 4 hours, which Garnet maintained, was long, even for her.
Ruby and Sapphire took probably somewhere in the ballpark of 30 minutes, considering they were put in cells and not bubbled or put in containment chambers where they couldn't reform.

SO looking at the middle of the mural, we can see Rose shielding herself from a bombardment, seemingly done from the figure in the middle (possibly blue diamond).
I think that this bombardment is why there was no second invasion. Either the Gem was shattered, became corrupted or survived under Rose's shield (Pearl and Garnet).
Earth was basically quarantined whilst the effects of this wore off. Hence why Jasper (and therefore presumably yellow diamond) didn't know if Rose survived, and only set limited engineers every few thousands years to check on the cluster

If you want my opinion:
The panel on the left depicts white diamond. But as you can see, she is being reached for by tens of hands. This is quite similar to Lapis's 'move', and leads me to think that the homeworld took her, as opposed to Rose. For whatever reason, the homeworld turned on white struck her down. There is abit of evidence for that, with White seemingly found in the pyramid, which has Homeworld insignia on it.
The middle panel show the war proper- Rose vs Blue, who comprised the largest single force on Earth. YD helped out here, but as we can see on the right she was distant, and eventually retreated and let Blue diamond be taken down by Rose. This is why there was no second invasion after Blue used whatever bombardment weapon we see in the middle panel.

Depending on who exactly Pink (probably Rose) and White (probably the white pyramide thing Steven found) are Homeworld seems to have only two rulers who are Yellow and Blue. But considering how we never heard or saw anything about Blue some fans believe that Yellow is the only ruler of Homeworld and Blue an enemy ruler or maybe Homeworld is split between these two.
