I wish Adventure Time could deal with arcs in a cool way like these shows does. I still love AT, and I understand that these shows aren't the same when it comes to plot-writing and character development, but when an episode from both SU or GF want to do an huge blow to the status quo or some new unexpected stuff added to the mix, it feels very fresh and intriguing compared to what is happening in AT.

If you're referring to the production order, it's actually kept its continuity regardless of it "out of order" episodes. Example, Watermelon Steven was supposed to come before island adventure according to the list, but all episodes post island adventure, Sadie has a scar on her face, including Watermelon Steven. And I could think of a few gravity falls episode I could shuffle without hurting anyone's understanding of the series. Both shows stop to have fun from time to time, but both shows also have pretty strong running arcs and build on events that have happened, even if you don't necessarily expect it to have mattered at the time.

Jasper was your basic PROUD WARRIOR but I think that's fine because I think it's meant to highlight the way Homeworld shoehorns people into very specific roles (when Rose talks about how much she loves Earth she talks about how there's so much variety and unpredictability that could happen in each individual's life).
