I think that's sort of what Ozpin means by believing in his "Simple Soul' even though Salem thinks he's an idiot for doing so.
Ruby, first and foremost, wants to defeat evil, essentially. She doesn't let other shit get in the way. Yang's depressed and armless? Weiss forced back into her home that she hates? Blake ran away without a word?
It all obviously does get to Ruby, but she doesn't focus her efforts on them, she instead begins to travel after Cinder because it's the right thing to do for the good of the world.

So Qrow just revealed that his semblance is the ability to transform into an actual crow
Black birds can be seen in the Red, Black and Yellow trailers, so it would make sense for these to be Qrow
However, in 'It's Brawl in the Family', when Qrow confronts Winter, the scene conspicuously cuts to a black bird watching them. This seems contrary to what we're shown in the new after credits scene, which leads me to believe that this isn't Qrow
Winter revealed in 'Lessons Learned' that some semblances are hereditary, implying Raven and Qrow could share similar or identical semblances. This could mean that Raven is the one watching Qrow fight Winter
I think it would make sense for Qrow to be the one in the Red trailer and the Yellow trailer, since Raven doesn't seem to care about Ruby and Yang at all whereas Qrow does. However, the bird that appears in the Black trailer I think is Raven, because Qrow would have no reason to watch over Blake and Adam. Raven would have no obvious reason to be watching Blake, but it's possible that she might be there to observe Adam: the two share extremely similar colour motifs, edgy attitudes, weapons and identical fighting styles (rapid sheathing and unsheathing of their swords during combat) which could possibly mean the two are related in some way

Then, midway through the third season, there's a sudden rollercoaster plunge into death and despair. Salem seems like the one who gave up on the inevitable and decided to choose the supposed "winning" side. Because the fact that she's even having a dialogue that seems to be debating with Ozpin sounds like she's telling others to give up already and just live their lives to the fullest and not wasting it by training and fighting a losing fight. It's either to join her or just continue living and ignorant until the end is near.
The fact that she managed to convince Cinder and Co. and Roman who was a person who supposedly selfishly lived makes it seem like what's going to happen is something that no one can probably stop. Also, the fact that mankind's only actual means of resistance and defense are the 4 Beacons while villages along the outskirts and other places are being terrorized by Grimm is also a bid indicator that mankind isn't really winning.

I totally did as well, but I've realised since she had control over magnetism instead of metal directly she constantly had to be setting up opposing poles to be able to move anything and had to be using much more powerful fields for bigger objects. Spinning multiple huge things like that at a high speed is probably too much even for her.
That said, I am 100% sure Pyrrha would have destroyed any non-maiden in a fight. Just moving so many huge gears with magnetism proves how powerful she was. Her control of her semblance was too OP.
