Many of their dungeon bosses in Dofus are references, there's even a Bob Marley boss. I guess they never expected they'd make figurines of them one day when they designed them years ago.
We finally got the wakfu design of the male huppermages, although it's still just concept art. They're infinitely better than the dofus designs at least.
Only 3 of these haircuts (not sure if counting the main one) will be put in the game.

I found dofus female huppers to be decent enough myself. The way it reminds me of sailor uniforms is cute but overall the look fits better with long hair I think, which makes it harder for males.

Eh... I'm not a fan of superheroes to begin with and it's been a while, so I don't want to be too harsh, but it didn't do much for me. Graphically I'd say it's on point and appropriately dark for the theme. I remember feeling that it felt a little too short, though. You have all those supervillains plotting against the Justice clan and coming out all at once with very little introduction, and you're told that they're long-standing enemies, but they just feel like a bunch of nobodies, most of which get dispatched quickly to make room for the final confrontation.
I think chances are good that someone who's into capes would genuinely enjoy it for what it is, with only that pacing issue to get in the way. It might not be *enough* of a parody for others to get into it.

Theo, Goultard, 2x Coa Gulary. It's a blitz team that's supposed to ambush the key component of the opposing team and kill it in 1-2 turns... They master the four elements and even their attitude can be influenced by them. They don't worship any god in particular (but they don't reject them like Wakfu Foggernauts tend to do), but they serve the Krosmic Balance. Which is supposedly a neutral force of the universe that strives to return to equilibrium, so Huppermages seek to find and preserve harmony in all things.
Some NPC dialog proposes that they knew about smithmagic and its derivatives before it was "discovered" by Hel Munster.
Bakara and Julith from the upcoming movie are both Huppermages, as is the new king of Bonta's advisor in the Dofus MMO. It may be that other characters previously referred to as witches are Huppermages as well (that remains to be seen).
There are half-spoken mentions of persecutions occuring against them between the time of the movie and the time of Dofus MMO. As for Wakfu,

Oh, the Dofus news also mentions that Huppermages were among the sages who decided that the Primordial Dofus needed to be separated and guarded after the whole Bolgrot incident. That's another reason I think witches in general may be Huppermages since at least one of them takes a strong interest in taking them back from the wrong hands in the gamebooks, and others seem at least knowledgeable about their locations.
Lastly, there's at least a chance that Joris becomes one since he uses magic abilities on a few occasions, notably casting a protective glyph in the third gamebook and putting the Sadida guards to sleep in Wakfu season 1. Perhaps he was influenced by Bakara. He's also visibly interested in Dofus so that would work with the "Huppermages look after the Dofus" theme.

National championships have happened this month. Spain, Germany, USA, Italy and France (the latter two just ended today). Each country has its own meta with really different styles and teams making it to tops. The meta keeps evolving with new releases, new maps and some actions taken to fix past balance mistakes. They also hired a new game designer who seem very competent for the upcoming season 4, as well as a new base set (fixing problems like current demonic rewards)
The online version is a bit less varied due to some tryhards in the mid and low leagues, but it's still worth a try to get a feel of the gameplay
