Osomatsu and Ichimatsu share the issue of wanting their brothers to stay with them in the opposite vein. Oso wants to be able to spend time with and look after them while Ichi is afraid of them leaving him so in that sense they're a perfect match. Oso is also the teasing happy type with a sincere side so that works well with Ichi who's emotionally closed off but prickly.

Juicy is one of the only brothers that seems to actually like Karamatsu and want his company, and thanks to his personality he doesn't get frustrated with him. In the opposite vein, Kara's personality means he's never put off by Juicy's weirdness.

This actually made me think of something, say that the brothers split off to live into groups of three just like the divorce episode (without mama matsuno of course), which group would do better as a functioning unit(family relations wise as well as monetarily)?
So it'd be Choromatsu, Karamatsu and Juicy living together and then Osomatsu, Ichimatsu, and Totty living together.

Of course we could have it all wrong, the last time Osomatsu left the family as a kid Choro went a little batshit and started whipping
everyone so it probably depends on whether or not Choro can keep it together.
If Kara and Jyushi do their part then they'd probably be fine, but if Kara lazes around lost in his own world and Jyushi just does yakyuu I
could see Choro snapping and imposing a draconian hold over them.
And on the flip side in a best case scenario for Oso and the others I see them functioning well (without crime) if Oso's big brother switch gets
flipped since he'd do his best to look after him and Ichi and he can be responsible when he wants to be.

Both sides look like they could falter. Choro seems pretty normal but we don't know how bad he really can get if he does snap. I don't think Ichi should be left with Oso or Todo I think he would feel even more alienated then he already is. He would need at least Jyushi to help balance him out.

Nah I think out of all the brothers Oso is probably the only other brother that can be trusted with Ichi. He can be a bit of a bully but he's been proven to be tactful with Ichi judging by the esper nyanko episode, and since he's Oso he's always down to spend time with his bros so Ichi wouldn't be too lonely.
Oso and Jysuhi seem to treat him well. Kara annoys him too much so I don't think he would be the best person. Choro actually seem to always try to get some sort of response out of him but he never really opens up. Todo probably is the worst person to stick with since they seem to be polar opposites. Also I think I found out the reason he wears the mask.

Kara would just be painful to be around but I think he would sort of get used to it. While Jyushi I feel like it would take a toll on him since he is always so hyperactive. Sadly we haven't seen much interaction with them so there isn't much to go off of.

While I honestly wonder if Oso + Ichi + Todo could manage (since the original question had the condition that they don't go live with their mother). Todo could probably hold down a job, but I'm not sure he'd be ready to use the money to support the other two. But this IS a gag anime, and Oso seems to win every time he goes to panchinko or horse races, so maybe he'd end up being the one to monetarily support them?

A job for Osomatsu would be a little complicated, its not that he's incapable of finding something but I feel like he'd feel the need to look after Ichimatsu so he'd probably look for something where he could bring him along or have Ichi work beside him.
