Okay what is the magic of iced coffee?
If I buy iced coffee it tastes fucking amazing but if I put some hot coffee in the fridge and drink it when it's cold it tastes like shit. What the fuck am I missing?

The iced coffee you buy is 10% coffee 90% sugar
Cold brewed iced coffee tastes much smoother.
Hot brewing extracts much more of the bitter chemicals in coffee. When its then cooled you can taste them much more. Most untrained people tend to use too little coffee and brew too long, which makes it even worse.
Just pick up a cold brew pitcher and use that.

I drink everything black though, but brb putting sugar in this bitch.
All coffee goes stale if you don't drink it fresh, dum dum.
Iced coffee is made by making extra strong coffee and pouring it over ice, not throwing coffee in the fridge and drinking it the next day.

Yeah but I brew this shit blacker than Dikembe Mutombo and shove it in the freezer for an hour or so then put some ice on it.

Hot brewing is not the way to do iced coffee, unless you really know what you're doing. You obviously don't.

That's how the places OP is most likely talking about do it, and how most people do it. What the fuck are you talking about?

Starbucks used to do it like that. Most decent shops have used cold-brew for 20+ years.

>most decent shops have used cold-brew for 20+ years
This has to be the most obviously bullshit post I've read all week. Congratulations anon.

Was personally doing cold brew in 1998 at multiple shops. But don't let facts get in your way.

>facts
I can also provide anecdotes backing up what I'm saying but it sounds like you're dug in on this one and there's no point.
