Going in Tijuana and Ensenada next week for some wine tasting. Is there any places worth checking out when it comes to food? I always hear Baja is one of the best places to eat in Mexico.

While in Tijuana ask for a place called Tacos Salceado and ask for quesatacos , it will be one of the best meals you'll ever eat. If you want real authentic and delicious mexican food go to "el mexicano". Also search for
"gastronomical zones", they're places filled with food trucks of all kinds of cuisines.
In Ensenada go to Tacos Marco Antonio, they're seafood tacos and all of them are delicious, there are like 23 different types. Also look for gastronomical zones here.
And finally there's the ruta del vino which is between Ensenada and Tijuana, there you can taste a wide range of artisan wines, cheese and a lot of "gourmet" food.
Source: i'm mexican and live in the area and don't pay attention to this basement dwellers, Ensenada and Tijuana are perfectly safe, only the south is fucked up here.

In between ensenada and rosarito is a hotel spa called las rocas. they have a good wine bar for local tasting. you can hang at the pool or spa afterwards..
