Does America have the best sweets?
>>
Finn here

Murikan candy is all sugary garbage with horrible flavoring and texture. Ive had it all.

Every European I've met agrees - America does bad food the best.

Brits and Germans in particular that I've met say american pastries and cookies are way better than what you can get there.

Pastries and cookies are not sweets, they are pastries and cookies.

American sweets don't tend to sit right with British palates. We prefer sweeter chocolate and less artificial tasting sweets.

The only exception to this is Jolly Ranchers though.

American candy is awful

British candy is pretty top tier, so is German stuff

commonwealth snacks are also decent, not Euro tier but better than the American sugar loaded crap

Pastries and cookies are in fact sweet

Many things are sweet but many things are also not sweets.

Italy here.
I typically don't care for American sweets in general, though there are a few I find really rather good. Jelly Belly, for example, is tits.

However, when it comes to salty snack foods, you guys are the undisputed champions, IMO. No one beats the Americans when it comes to deliciously unhealthy salty garbage.

Also, I don't count chocolate among "sweets." American mass-manufactured chocolate is mostly crap, but your small-batch chocolatiers is pretty good.
On average, our chocolate in the EU (save Britain, whose chocolate is goddamn abysmal) is better than American chocolate overall but your small batch chocolate makers are better than our small batch chocolate makers. Does that make sense?

Well I disagree. American sweets aren't very good.

Brit, German, Swiss, Japanese and Italian sweets are tops.
