Rate my dinner.
Bland as fuck
what's your prison's internet speed?
Looks like the sad meal my buddy would eat day in and day out when trying to be at the gym everyday and work out. He opened his lunch one day and said to me "I'm so tired of eating this everyday" and I realized this 27 year old couldn't cook for shit.
How do you get such perfectly smooth rice? Is it a specific kind? Mine always looks like this.

Strange, this exact same image was used to start this exact same thread just four days ago.
Odd.
>>7597945
That doesn't really help, man. What is it?
Why is it brown and how does it turn white after cooking?
>>7597951
It's boil in the bag rice.
Literally the most disgusting form of rice on the planet. It has a horrible texture and taste, just like the rest of OP's unseasoned, boiled dinner.
>>7597935
what type of deranged person would do something like that?
I mean really, in an age where a camera is never more than an arm's length away to not use a new picture every time you make a thread is just unthinkable
>>7598147
My point, exactly!
>>7597883
Where's the meat?
>>7598147
>camera is never more than an arm's length
So what? There's absolutely no point in taking the photo, What's the point in cluttering up the interwebz with yet more poor-quality useless pics?
>>7597883
That's a big piece of bread
>>7598167
Fuck off.
>>7597931
It's probable parboiled like Uncle Ben's
Dry and not enough nutrition/10
>>7598175
no, parboiled can be mushy too.
the secret lies in washing the extra starch before cooking.
lacks some watery vegs.
>>7598147
what is that orange doing there? if it is part of the meal i would like you to give me your address so i can go and kill you or at least castrate you because you are cancer.

Greek-speaking part of Italy here. I described fasolakia to a from Greece Greek friend of mine and he had no idea what the fuck I was talking about. Is it only known in a particular region of Greece or something? He's from some pretty-looking town near the border with Turkey.
>>7598283
Fair question, unfortunately I can't provide a good answer. I'm from the US and learned how to make it from an Athenian girl I dated while living in London.
Maybe it's a central/southern Greece thing?

Maybe. We eat it in Italy, too. The Greek speakers call it fasUlakia rather than fasOlakia, though.
I cooked some today to eat tomorrow (because it's always better the next day).
