I dl'd monty python's complete series the other day. What years was that? '67? Anyways, there was a reference to peanut butter.
So, fuck off OP.
>>
>>7583563

Canuck myself, everyone in my family eats this stuff like it's an essential part of their diet. I fucking abhor it.
>>
>>7583563
French here, I know a lot of frogs who enjoy it too.
>>
it's one of the greatest foods ever, nigga. It works on sandwiches, hamburger, pie is amazing as well and of course with some jelly
>>
Vegemite looks and tastes like bitter shit. Literal bitter shit.
>>
you dont eat this shit pure
its peanut-butter, use it like you would liquid peanuts or nutty butter. I use it for baking and as emulsifier in sauces
>>

How culturally provincial are you? I'm Dutch and in the Netherlands peanut butter is one of the most popular condiments for sandwiches. Indonesian cuisine is also full of peanut paste.

I only feed it to my dog 2bh. usually by spreading it on my genitals for a nice relaxing afternoon break. fido's a very good boy

Are you South or Central American? Peanut butter is delicious
>>
>>7583994
...I do eat peanut butter out of the jar with a tablespoon.

>>7584793
I just recently converted to the natural stuff. It's more oily than I expected. I guess the lack of stabilizers to keep the nut oil suspended in the peanut solids masked how much fat was in it all along.

Anyone ever tried the powdered stuff?
>>
this blows peanut butter out of the water
>>
>>7585277
What does it taste like compared to PB?
>inb4 almonds
>>
>>7585273
Powdered stuff is good in smoothies and sauces. Adds peanut flavor without the fat. Mixing it with water and using it as a spread substitute is gross and chalky.
>>
>>7585279
What other answer were you looking for?

Peanut butter tastes like eating a cooked peanut, just with a different texture.

Almond butter tastes like almond. What else is there to say?
>>
>>7585273
I use pb2, but I don't make peanut butter out of it.

It's perfect for shakes and smoothies though. I use it in my chocolate-banana protein shakes to give a peanut butter flavor.
>>
>>7585279
With almond butter, I've noticed a different texture. Almond butter is thicker, doesn't spread as well.

I don't know about everyone, but whenever I eat almonds, they leave my mouth pretty dry. With peanut butter, I never get that dry feeling in my mouth, but with almond butter, I get this dry/chalky feeling.

Despite that, I love the taste of almonds and prefer almond butter over peanut butter any day all day.
>>
>>7585281
Would say it's sweeter/saltier than PB? Is the texture/viscosity the same?

>>7585287
Thanks.
>>
>>7585289
>Would say it's sweeter/saltier than PB? Is the texture/viscosity the same?

Surely that would depend on the individiual brand, just like it does with PB. Some PB is highly sweetened. Some contains zero added sweetener. Some is ground very smooth, some is coarser.
>>
>>7585282
>>7585287
Thanks, I might try some of this in my oatmeal.

Same. It's way too runny, but it tastes good. If you want it solid you have to eat it cold out of the fridge and it lacks a lot of flavour that way.

I wish someone would make a hybrid peanut butter, with just the palm oil or whatever, and no sugar.

Stirring it really sucks too.

I'm in the UK and you can get this stuff all over.

Super fucking tasty and you don't have to stir in the oil every time. It's pretty solid at room temperature and they don't put in any sugar just peanuts, palm oil and salt.

It's my go to peanutbutter
>>
>>7585297
>Some is ground very smooth, some is coarser.

this. One of my local supermarkets has a pair of self-serve grinders that make two different kinds of peanut butter as well as almond butter. There is a knob to adjust the texture so you can make it as smooth as you want it.
>>
i eat a 2 pound jar of peanut butter every 2 weeks :D

does american pb still use trans fats?
>>
>>7583563
buy dutch pindakaas instead it's way superior
>>
>>7585411
Depends on the brand. Some American brands have no additives of any kind. Others are loaded with them.

I prefer their creamy that you have to stir, but this palm oil no-stir one is good too, and it might be exactly what you're looking for.

Americans puts Kraft Singles on their burgers and grilled cheese. That sums up the american palate.

maybe you got the wrong kind of peanut butter op. I got great value peanut butter and it wasn't very good.
>>
>>7585535
My statement is 100 % true.
>>
>>7585511
eh you know craft singles are pretty good melted on a burger I don't know why all the hate towards them.
>>
>>7585549
Haha,thank you.You just proved my point,pleb.
>>
>>7585562

it's the best melting cheese.. i cook in fine dining and most likely have a much better palate than you do.

it's the best cheese for burgers, and that's the bottom line. when's the last time you've had it? swiss is a close second because it also melts pretty well.
>>
>>7584740

processed peanut butter only has 2 more grams of sugar than natural. yeah it has more saturated fat due to the added oils, but assuming you're not plowing through a jar a day or eating fried chicken for dinner every night, then it's really of such little consequence that the reduced price is worth it.

btw, excess calories make you fat and natural pb and skippy are calorically equal.
>>
"Kraft singles is the best cheese for burgers".You have the palate of a toddler.
>>
>>7585549

Fluffy soft wonderbread, Shmuckers grape jelly, jif creamy peanutbutter, ice cold glass of whole milk.

I'm getting an erection just thinking about it.
>>
>>7585619
>grape jelly
>not strawberry preserves
>>
>>7585582
I grew up with kraft singles grilled cheese and cheeseburgers. Its ability to melt is the only redeeming quality. Pretty much every cheese in the world tastes better, and many of them still melt well.

It simply tastes very bad compared to real cheese. I wouldn't be bragging about my palate if I could tolerate that stuff.

i mean i work with really expensive PNW soft ripened/bleus regularly (seastack, oregonzola, humboldt fog), amazing aged parms and romano, and high quality bries/goat cheeses very regularly..

We don't sell american cheese but we also don't sell cheeseburgers. Saying kraft singles are gross on grilled cheese/burgers is a meme that needs to die out. Why the fuck would I waste good cheese on a greasy burger? The american cheese/burger combo is classic and unbeatable.
>>
>>7585680

For a PB and J yessir I do, it's all about texture, and the cakey sponge texture of whitebread is great.

>>7585632

Preserves fuck with the texture, needs to be smooth like jelly.

>texture

There is not enough solid in wonderbread to constitute "texture."
>>
>>7585741
I'm not a mindless hater of cheap food, but sharp cheddar and blue cheese taste better with a burger than kraft singles, regardless of which one melts better. A lot of other cheeses would to.
>>
>>7585772

It has that kraft singles taste and i love it on burgers. "Better" is subjective as it depends on what else is on the burger, but for your standard cheeseburger with lettuce/tomato/grilled onion/pickle/ketchup/mustard, murrican cheese wins it every time for me.

Like >>7585425 says it varies by brand, but remember that the FDA has banned trans-fats on the US food supply so as I understand it, partially-hydrogenated oils should be fazed out as an ingredient of the PB industry by 2018.
