Has /ck/ ever had a mangosteen? I've never seen them IRL and want to try it. Right now I'm drinking some mangosteen juice that came from a can, it tastes OK but it looks and feels like runny semen. The flavor is hard to describe but it almost tastes like bubble gum.
I had them in south america. Pretty good, tastes between a peach and some kind of berry.

Its a funny flavor, almost tastes like whatever "tutti fruiti" flavor is. I'm not sure yet if I like it but I don't mind it either. I'm reading about mangosteens online and they are very expensive and hard to get in America, thats why I've never seen them or heard of it.
Delicious, but like many tropical fruits I'm pretty sure it doesn't taste much like the canned juice.
The pith/peel stains like a motherfucker, if I recall correctly.

Mangosteens taste really good, especially the ripe ones. The darker, the riper, the sweeter! I cant think of any other fruits that has the same texture as them though, sorry.
Be careful of the thick skin though, the purple stains will definitely stain your hands and clothes.

Easily my favourite fruit, and definitely worth trying at least once. They can be pretty expensive though. You can probably find them in a decent asian supermarket.

Had several mangosteen trees in my grandmother's orchard. Also durian trees, guava trees, rambutan trees, banana herb, tapoica, sugar cane and mango trees. Most things will grow unattended in Malaysia. Just put the seed or sapling in the soil and wait.
