>>7533934
>>7533954
Yes, crunchy on top, bottom, and sides. It's semi cooked noodles, cheese and milk. That's it. It's a lot of cheese. At least 1 1/2 #. You want your noodles semi cooked because they will finish cooking in the oven.
The way I make mine is to grease my skillet with bacon grease. Next, Alternate thin layers of your noodles and cheese, press each layer down, finishing with a good layer of cheese on top. Now add enough milk to fill the skillet at least 2/3 full, up to 3/4 full. Put in preheated 375F oven for about 35 min or until top is golden browned and crisp. Remove from oven and let it sit at least 30 minutes before you cut it. Eat it sliced as is or take your slice and kinda mash/mix it. That's it, enjoy.
I don't make it a lot because it's very high calorie and makes a lot. Probably once every 2 months. It's comfort food to the highest degree for me.
>>7534062
No egg? Weird. Where ya from, friend-o?
>>7533934
The way I know it is to mix a bunch of shredded cheese with beaten egg/s, boil a bunch of pasta and combine the pasta with the cheese/egg mixture then bake. Some people also add evaporated milk to the egg mixture or, if they're really old school, white sauce (like bechamel but without the nutmeg or onion). And there you have it: southern baked mac and cheese.
>>7533954
Can be. Depends on whether it has a topping and/or how it's baked.
>>7534128
Texas. I do make another Mac and cheese just like what you described. The one I posted a pic of is really just something I make for myself and family because it's how our grams made it. If I'm taking Mac and cheese somewhere then I actually make a sauce with roux, cheese, milk ,egg, mustard powder, etc. mix in the noodles, and bake.
When the slice of the Mac and cheese is all mixed/mashed up it looks like pic related. (Bad lighting, sorry) It's plenty cheesy, just not very saucy. Hard to describe.
>>7534161
>>7534128
Here's the last pic I have of it. You can see the layers of cheese and noodles a lot better.

Breakfast: banana yogurt

Dinner: haven't decided yet but I've got shrimp, quinoa and some mixed veggies so probably gonna do something that involves all 3
Breakfast: Three eggs scrambled with two slices Canadian bacon with a little reduced sugar ketchup.

Dinner: Lean deli beef pastrami with American cheese sandwich with a granny smith apple (my dinner is usually at 3am in my squad)

Breakfast: oatmeal with cranberries, almonds and vanilla. Also coffee with milk.
Lunch: chickpea flatbread thing I grew up eating that I don't know the name of because I don't speak my grandmother's language and no one else seems to know what the fuck it is but it's kind of similar to injera if injera were yellow and not sour. Wrapped around mashed white beans flavoured with rue and spices. Also a cucumber salad with lemon dressing.

More snack: a handful of Jelly Bellies.

I had 2 eggs, fried in butter in my cast iron pan, then I toasted up some tortillas in the pan after the eggs were done, I ground some fresh 4 pepper blend on top the eggs and ate them. For lunch I had some left overs, hot dogs I cooked in a pressure cooker with rice that had some carrot, onion, celery and spices in it. For dinner I'm going to have these giant northern beans made in a tomato, evoo, oregano and parsley sauce.
Yup, chances are I'm gonna be farting up a hot dog flavored storm tonight.
>>7542413
Many SE Asians eat most of their foods with a fork and a spoon.
>>7542442
Can you give an explanation as to why you grew up eating certain foods with particular utensils?
>>7542453
Spoons are for soups and soup-like foods (stews, beans, etc). Forks are for everything else.
>>7542393
No, they don't get soggy at all.
And I'm not sure they're quite the same thing as gnocchi, anyway.
Basic recipe for 4-5 servings (can be divided):
Potato flakes, 80g
Flour, 80g
Salt, a heavy pinch
Herbs, dry, a heavy pinch or two (I used parsley, but dill and a few other herbs are fine)
Eggs, 4
Extra flour, as needed
Whisk together first four ingredients.
Add eggs and mix to make a dough.
Flour your hands and the dough and roll into a rope about as thick as your thumb.
Break off pieces of dough using your thumbnail as a guide for size; place the pieces on a flat plate.
Roll the pieces into balls.
Use a fork to roll the balls back and forth into that shape.
Boil for a minute or so until they float up.
Also, everything Hungarian is weird.

"Starting your day with breakfast initiates thermogenesis, which is the metabolic process of digesting and transporting food.
To keep your metabolism running at full capacity, meaning you are always in a state of thermogenesis, you need to eat regular, frequent meals. According to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center, eating breakfast can increase your resting metabolism by up to 10 percent."

Something like matzoh ball soup for all three.
I have some matzoh I'm trying to use up. Mom got a case of it after Easter because it was reduced by half, and split it between me and my brother. We're not even Jewish. I hate to waste food, but there's only one way to make matzoh edible. You crumble it up, sprinkle granulated bouillon over it, and pour on hot water (it doesn't have to be boiling).
Seriously, matzoh is worthless. Have you ever cut yourself on a cracker? Because I have.
1 half large paw paw, 1 tangelo, couple plums, 1 pb+j sandwich, 3 banana, 1 fejoia, 1 apple, couple dates, 1 "lift plus" energy drink, 4 weet-bix and milk with a couple dried apricots and another (chopped) banana, and then for dinner I had about a palm sized (and a little thicker) piece of steak pan fried rare, 1 microwaved kumura, and a small capsicum radish peanut rocket tomato cucumber salad with red balsamic olive oil, apple cider dressing. For dessert I had half a cup chocolate icecream and another apple, and some chamomile tea with lemon/honey. right before bed (I'm lying in bed now with my laptop) I made 1 slice toast with butter and thick glaze of marmite.
oh and I brought a soft serve from mcdonalds at about 3pm
Damn sounds like a lot when I write it all out. I don't see how you guys are even surviving on such a tiny amount of food?
>>7543292
It also kick starts your appetite to make you hungrier. 10% metabolism pales to potentially 40% more intake. Meaning, skipping breakfast probably helps unless you religiously eat a mini bowl of oatmeal and a piece of fruit. Not factoring in mid-day increased hunger.
>>7543364
ill agree that it makes you hungrier but as long as you aren't a weak willed faggot and eat smaller portions of the same amount of food over the course of the day its better

>>7529459
Only food so far today.
>2 egg omelette with a little bit of shredded cheese wrapped up in a tortilla
I can barely eat because I'm trying to lose weight.
Everything is so fucking chocked full of calories I can only eat 1 meal a day and 1-half meal.
I came to /ck/ to get a good idea for dinner.
Breakfast: cereal and milk. It was Honey Graham Oh's that I cut with Cheerios because HGO's are way too sweet for me. I like sugary things, sure. I'll have a piece of candy every now and again. But I can't eat a bowl full of the stuff.
Oh, also coffee with milk.
Lunch: pork-and-mushroom-stuffed cabbage roll, garlic mash and porcini gravy.
When I make cabbage rolls, I make a bunch at a time because they freeze well and are great to bring to work. Same with mashed potatoes.
Also a kiwifruit.
Snack: Walgreen's I passed by on my way home is having a sale on M&M's (59¢/pk) and I had a few 50¢ off two coupons if you buy the new varieties (coffee, chili and honey), so I grabbed two of each. Tried a handful of coffee M&M's. Just taste like a regular to me.
Dinner: pasta with zucchini and eggs.

>thread is about what you ate today
>anon asks "wait, you ate only a salad? nothing else?" with no judgment
>'hurr durr you're fat if you eat more than just a salad in one day!!'
wut
I eat salads near daily, but never eat just a salad. Even this Saturday, which is expected to be quite hot, I'm planning to whip up two salads for lunch, one bean and one carrot. All the same, I'll have bread with them. As well as a breakfast (oatmeal) and a dinner. Not sure yet what I'll have for dinner, just know that I won't eat meat as I seldom eat meat and beans in the same day.
Rollmop, cream cheese to take the edge off and some shitty flatbread because my loaf went off.
>>7551518
Fuck yeah rollmops.

>>7552647
I was cooking all day, and didn't eat. This is my third michelada, if you wanna call the first two breakfast and lunch.
>>7552650
Yeah, let's call them that. Now I want a michelada.
Is it still michelada if I use brine from pickled chillies instead of lime juice and chillies themselves?
>>7552661
As far as I know, a michelada has lime and salt, but you do you. I love pickle brine in drinks.

>tomato soup
Nearly everytime I've seen tomato soup, it's just kinda been the soup itself with nothing in it. No dumplings nor pasta or rice or anything. The few times there was something added, it was shredded chicken meat, usually breast. So a Q4U, Anon (or anyone else who'd care to answer):
what do you think would be nice in a tomato soup as a carb component? Potato dumplings? Potatoes themselves? Flour dumplings? Pasta? I was thinking cheese dumplings so that it's kinda like eating a bowl of pizza.

No breakfast.

You are going to die happy with that attitude
>>7559923
It's ok I'm already obese, no turning back now I'll probably die in the next 5-10 years from a heart attack like my dad. My fatness is genetic.
>>7559931
So is mine apparently. I used to work in a upper middle class restaurant, ran by a traditionally trained french chef, I worked long hours and ate for free everyday, it was wonderful. Unfortunately I had to take all those skills after I quit and use them because it's hard to eat something knowing you can do it better and faster for half the cost.
I would definitely still be willing to day eating cheese burgers and strawberries; those two foods are staples to my day
Breakfast: Hair of the dog (in the form of a Bloody Mary)
Lunch: Lamb gyro with extra tzatziki and a salad with lettuce, spinach, feta, olives, cucumber, and tomato

Potato salad, cucumbers, half a pint of tomatoes, and some cold meats for dinner. Pic vaguely related.
It's late, and about twenty minutes ago I microwaved a frozen potato bun and ate it plain. I really weird but I love microwaved bread so much, it's so soft and warm.
