>goes to a restaurant
>orders something that could have easily been made at home

Why do people do this? For example, ordering spaghetti at a restaurant that serves much more complex pastas and other dishes, or paying $6 for a hot dog when you could have easily made 12 for the same price. Why do people pay for bibimbap? It's literally rice and vegetables for like $12 a bowl.

When I go out, I like to get shit that takes all day and a fuckton of special ingredients and equipment to make, like ramen or barbecue or dim sum or woodfire pizza. Why bother otherwise?

i feel the same about ppl who order a steak......its literally meat and heat.....

i try to order stuff i wouldnt be bothered to make myself

Literally everything you can order at a restaurant can be more easily made at home.

If it makes your autism start raging this hard, just stop going out to eat and make everything yourself instead.

Because all that namul can be a pain in the ass to make, if you don't already have it on hand. Shit like gosari in particular, or jang jorim, are delicious but take time to make properly. Also, dolsot bibimbap, which is the best fucking kind, requires stuff that most people won't have on hand.

Usually I order things I don't make at home when dining out. Sometimes I'll order a dish for research, then go home and reverse engineer it.

But I don't see anything wrong with ordering whatever you feel like eating at a restaurant, even if it is something you could easily make at home. Just because I go out for something different doesn't mean I think everybody has to.

You can't age single cuts of steak at home. Prime rib is too much effort for a single serving as well.

Making bibimbap is a pain in the ass. Way too many ingredients I never have on hand and cost a fortune to buy separately. Plus it only costs like $8, $9 if you want dolsot.

As a waiterfag I never got why people came in and ordered our salads. I mean the salads are good, I ate them more often than anything, but they were pretty much made by me in 2 seconds it took to take our salad green mix and throw tomatoes and cucumbers or olives on it and plate it. The cook just throwing on chicken or beef or specialty cheese. Then just take the dressing out of the fridge and put it on the side. Cost people 12 bucks for that shit.
>>
>>7506498
did you wink at cute girls?
did you spit in the rude peoples soups?
>>
>>7505842
You know what I find more annoying?

When people go to a restaurant and complain about how the food is inferior to food from their own culture. And when they go to a restaurant that serves the exact cuisine as their home country, they complain about how they can cook better.

>what da fuk is dis yaar? this ravioli and lasagna boolsheet make me urti, beta. what is wrong with traditional biryani or makhani?
>you call this biryani? what a waste of money, I can make better biryani at home
>>
>>7506498
Social norms.

If you don't order something that is a vegetable majority, you're regarded as a disgusting pig.
>>
>>7506513
Nah none of that bullshit. Worst thing that ever happened to a rude guy was management put a picture of him up by server station with orders to not serve him and call the manager to have him kicked out or the cops. Really that's the worst shit that ever happens at most restaurants. We just remember you were a rude asshole that like shat all over a table or something and just never serve you again. More often the waiter just thinks "oh great an asshole" and figures fuck it he's not giving me a tip anyway and pays more mind to other customers and just rushes your ticket out to get you out quickly before your rude vibes start to bug other happier customers.

>>7506537
The thing is regulars came in and ordered the salads often. Salads weren't up there on the menu just for show to appease vegetarian liberals or whatever. People came in, ordered our whatever greek salad and praised them as wonderful when it was just little old me throwing ingredients together that were so basic the cooks felt it beneath them to touch. And it took not even 30 seconds for me to do.

I just don't get that shit. Why'd they come in so regularly for a salad and pay 12 to 15 bucks for some shit they could prepare at home in less than a minute, at less than a few bucks.
>>
>>7506578
Some people don't know that you can just throw a bunch of veg in a bowl and call it a salad. They don't know what veg to use in what amounts, shit maybe they don't even have a knife who knows.

Some chinese sweatshop worker is wondering right now why americans don't just make their own clothes, after all it's just some cloth and stitches the shit only takes like 30 seconds.
>>
>>7506619

Not OP, but things like foie gras, truffles, caviar, etc are hard to come by for the average consumer, and often need to be bought in bulk so it's often a better idea to eat these at a restaurant than to prepare it at home.

he's probably trying to make the point that steak is ridiculously easy to cook.

You literally heat it on high heat for a few minutes each side, flip, and done.

Its easier than cooking chicken.

And yes, this does involve getting it tl medium rare.
>>
>go to a cafe
>they want $15 for a breakfast of bacon, eggs, baked beans and toast
>when i can literally cook the same meal in under 5 mins for $3 or less

If it was some complicated shit, ok, but you are literally charging me a near 400% markup for something that any retard can cook.

Worst experience I had was going to a small family restaurant owned by some asian couple, they had a "roast beef dinner" for like $8.

I ordered it, paid, and watched as the owner took out a frozen dinner (the kind sold in supermarkets) and put it into the microwave. Then they dumped it onto a plate and served it to me.

I almost stood up and demanded a refund.
