It just doesn't taste right when it's boiled. Probably has to do with the water wicking away all the grease instead of it being cooked in it. Even a microwave will keep the grease around it, and it doesn't give it an unpleasant soft texture like boiling does
grilled > pan-fried > campfire'd > microwaved > boiled
